Business Development Executive – Trucking & Warehousing

Location: Ontario, CASchedule: Full-timeCompensation: Starting at $75,000 annually, plus commission

We’re seeking a Business Development Executive who knows how to win new business in trucking, transportation, and warehousing. This is a hands-on sales role for someone who enjoys building a pipeline through cold calling, in-person canvassing, referrals, and networking, then turning those conversations into lasting customer relationships.

You’ll work with prospective customers to understand their shipping and storage needs, develop practical solutions with the operations team, and manage opportunities from first contact through signed agreement and account launch.

What You’ll Do

  • Generate new trucking, transportation, and warehousing business through outbound calls, in-person canvassing, site visits, referrals, and industry networking.
  • Identify and connect with shippers, warehouse operators, distribution centers, and other prospective customers.
  • Build and maintain a consistent pipeline of qualified opportunities.
  • Learn each prospect’s operational challenges and recommend solutions that fit their needs.
  • Prepare and present pricing, proposals, and service recommendations in partnership with internal teams.
  • Lead the sales process through follow-up, negotiation, closing, and customer onboarding.
  • Grow relationships with existing accounts and identify additional business opportunities.
  • Keep prospect and sales activity records current.
  • Meet established goals for outreach, meetings, new accounts, revenue, and gross profit.

What We’re Looking For

  • 3–5 years of sales or business development experience in trucking, warehousing, transportation, or logistics.
  • A track record of generating new business and meeting or exceeding sales goals.
  • Confidence with cold calling and in-person prospecting or canvassing.
  • Experience building relationships with logistics decision-makers and presenting solutions based on their needs.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, follow-up, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate with operations and other internal teams.
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel for customer visits as needed.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office. A bachelor’s degree and familiarity with pricing and gross margins are preferred.
