We are looking for a motivated Business Development Representative (BDR) to join our client's growing sales team. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career professional who is interested in building a career in sales and business development while leveraging previous experience in the construction industry.
The BDR will play an important role in identifying prospective clients, building relationships, qualifying opportunities, and creating new business opportunities for the sales team. This position offers hands-on experience in a fast-paced, collaborative environment with opportunities for professional growth.
What You'll Do
Identify and engage prospective clients through outbound outreach, email, phone calls, networking, and other prospecting activities.
Research prospective organizations and key contacts to identify potential business opportunities.
Initiate conversations with prospective clients and learn about their business needs and challenges.
Qualify prospective opportunities and determine appropriate next steps.
Develop leads into qualified sales opportunities for the Account Executive team.
Follow up with prospects generated through marketing and other business development initiatives.
Maintain consistent outreach and activity across an assigned prospect list.
Schedule introductory meetings between prospective clients and members of the sales team.
Maintain accurate records of prospect interactions and activity within internal systems.
Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to support overall business development efforts.
What We're Looking For
Recent experience in the construction industry, ideally in a Project Management, Project Engineering, or related role.
Interest in transitioning into a sales or business development career.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Comfortable speaking with new people and initiating conversations.
Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and highly organized.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and consistently follow through.
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Workspace.
Ability to learn and effectively use CRM and sales prospecting tools.
Nice to Have
Previous experience in sales, business development, customer-facing, or client-facing roles.
Background in construction, technology, professional services, or a related industry.
Familiarity with outbound prospecting and lead generation.
Competitive mindset and a strong desire to achieve goals.
Experience participating in competitive athletics or other team-based activities.
