Location Burns Harbor INCleveland-Cliffs Steel has an immediate opportunity for a Business Development Representative in our Automotive Presource department in Burns Harbor Indiana. The Business Development Representative - Automotive Presource is responsible for providing feedback and serve as a liaison to various levels within Sales Quality and Applications Engineering concerning future automotive or appliance applications that are being supported. They will also set up new customers andor ship to locations price individual orders prior to order entry handle order tracking and status reporting reconcile pricing errors and ensure that product ships when required. An ideal candidate is comfortable providing quotations of availability price and anticipated ship datepromise dates as well as entering orders to utilize in-stock inventory for various applications.Summary of ResponsibilitiesCreate and manage material orders from start to finish guiding customers to make the most appropriate purchases to match their needsProvides quotation of material availability price and delivery timing via order tracking status reporting and expediting as neededStrategically locate and reallocate material in inventory as needed to fulfill customer needs including working with Cleveland-Cliffs facilities and outside processors on their production schedulesManage Presource inventory by monitoring age utility resellreject materials as needed while maintaining inventory levels and execute held steel disposition including non-scheduled extra processing NSEPWorks cross functionally with various departments such as quality on specification clarification account sales applications engineers plant contacts tech reps and outside processingOther duties as assignedMinimum QualificationsHigh School Diploma or GED2 years relevant work experience in customer service or order managementAbility to work independentlyStrong problem solving planning and decision-making skillsResults oriented with emphasis on taking initiative and perseverance and adhering to time schedulesAbility to effectively and efficiently multi-task with a high level of accuracyAssumes accountability and takes the initiativeStrong team player who works well with others internally and externally across functions with people from various levels of a diverse groupStrong organizational skillsEffectively communicates with team internally and externallyWorking knowledge of computers and Microsoft Office Suite Outlook Word Excel PowerPointApplicants for this position must be currently legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basisPreferred QualificationsBachelors degree in business or other related fieldExperience in steel industryProven analytical capabilitiesCleveland-Cliffs is a leading North America-based steel producer with focus on value-added sheet products particularly for the automotive industry.
