About the Sales Team at CovaThe Cova Sales team works to engage prospective and existing customers to drive revenue for the business. We are a fast‑paced, nimble team that must quickly respond to market changes in an exciting, ever‑evolving industry.The RoleAs the Business Development Representative (BDR), you will handle inbound sales inquiries from our award‑winning lead generation program and make both cold and warm outbound calls to potential customers. Training in‑office will be required.ResponsibilitiesMake 50+ outbound cold calls daily to potential customers in new markets as we are constantly expanding to new states and territoriesEngage with new and existing markets, qualifying leads, sharing information about our products and company, and screening prospectsCoordinate with Account Executives throughout North America to set appointments and follow up with cannabis retailers to advance their dispensary technologyRecontact the Cova database of prospects to advance potential opportunitiesField inbound queries and qualify prospects. Provide information, assist in the sales process, and set the wheels in motion for conversionsExecute nurture campaigns to engage prospects over time who may be slower to closeIdentify larger‑scale opportunities and transition them to the Territory or Strategic Account teamsAct as an ambassador for Cova, sharing information about the company, products, and organizationMeet activity goals for cold calls, client communication, and appointment setting to facilitate future salesMaintain a record of calls through Salesforce CRM, updating all client engagement activitiesThis role may require other responsibilities not listed on an as required basisRequirementsExperience working with diverse groups, with the ability to adapt to different perspectives, understandings, and needsAt least 1+ year previous cold calling or related BDR/sales experienceSuperior verbal communication skills: ability to call, shifting from inbound to outbound calls; connect, and interact with potential customers all dayAptitude for software principles and understanding of business systems (CRM, Retail, Inventory Mgmt., etc.)Proficient in M365 toolsAble to work in a fast‑paced environment with strong multi‑tasking abilitiesPrevious experience/knowledge of the Cannabis industry a strong assetNote this role may require minimal occasional weekend work to acknowledge incoming leads and some travel may be required (approx.
