Foodservice Business Development Representative Requirements & Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in foodservice, CPG, distribution, inside sales, or customer-facing commercial environments
  • Salesforce CRM experience required
  • Strong follow-up discipline and ability to manage multiple opportunities simultaneously
  • Experience qualifying leads and moving prospects through a structured sales cycle
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills with operators, distributors, and internal teams
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy
  • Ability to coordinate samples, pricing sheets, and customer follow-up activities
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, CRM platforms, and sales reporting tools
  • Ability to maintain accurate pipeline activity and reporting metrics
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or related field preferred
  • Bilingual Spanish/English is a plus, but not required

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

  • Conduct outreach to inbound leads, distributor referrals, food show contacts, and marketing-generated opportunities
  • Qualify prospective customers and document all sales activity within Salesforce
  • Coordinate product sample requests and follow up on customer feedback
  • Maintain active follow-up schedules to keep opportunities moving through the pipeline
  • Prepare pricing sheets, product information, and sales support materials
  • Track lead conversion activity and provide pipeline updates to leadership
  • Partner cross-functionally with operations, logistics, finance, and marketing teams
  • Research operators, distributors, and regional market opportunities
  • Support CRM accuracy, forecasting visibility, and reporting initiatives
  • Help improve inside sales processes and lead-to-opportunity conversion rates

Foodservice Business Development Representative Preferred Background & Skills:

  • Experience supporting foodservice distributors or operators
  • Exposure to frozen foods, CPG products, or specialty food categories
  • SAP experience or familiarity with ERP systems
  • Experience supporting field sales organizations
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to identify opportunity potential
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-volume sales environment
  • Self-motivated with strong ownership and accountability
  • Interest in long-term growth within commercial foodservice sales
