Business Development Representative

Ex-Cell Kaiser has been a trusted, family-owned manufacturer of decorative waste and recycling receptacles since 1933. You have probably seen our receptacles in restaurants, hotels, entertainment venues, airports, offices, and other commercial spaces nationwide.

Focused on quality, service, and operational excellence, we design, develop, and produce commercial receptacles of the highest quality, delivering them quickly to our customers through a strong network of distributors.

As we continue to grow, we are adding a new Business Development Representative position to our sales team. This role will support and grow distributor relationships, follow up on leads, assist with customer needs, and help identify new business, product, and market opportunities, while providing excellent service.

This is not a call-center sales role. This is a relationship-focused position that works closely with the Vice President of Sales & Marketing, external sales representatives, distributors, and end-users.

In addition to building strong customer and distributor relationships, the skills and knowledge you develop will allow you to support sales strategies, recommend Ex-Cell products for a variety of applications, including recycling initiatives and programs, and use market knowledge to bring new product ideas to the company.

What You'll Do

• Build and support new and existing distributor relationships.
• Develop strong working relationships with external sales representatives.
• Follow up on referrals, leads, and prospects to help move sales opportunities forward.
• Support customer inquiries and provide backup support to the customer service team.
• Assist with sales strategies for targeted markets or territories.
• Help create distributor sales and marketing tools.
• Participate in trade shows, customer meetings, and special events.
• Support product training for customers, sales teams, and external sales representatives.
• Use customer feedback, market knowledge, and sales experience to help identify new product opportunities.
• Represent Ex-Cell Kaiser with professionalism, follow-through, and strong customer service.

What We're Looking For

The ideal candidate is organized, professional, self-motivated, and comfortable building relationships by phone, email, and in person.

Required qualifications:

• 1–3 years of sales experience.
• Experience working with customers in person and/or by phone.
• Strong communication and listening skills.
• Ability to follow up professionally and stay organized.
• Demonstrated success offering product and service solutions to meet customer needs.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 and Teams.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• Ability to travel approximately 10–20% of the year, including occasional weekends for trade shows or industry events.
• Valid driver's license required for occasional driving to customer and business meetings in Illinois and Wisconsin. Must also be able to meet rental vehicle eligibility requirements when a rental vehicle is necessary for business travel.

Preferred qualifications:

• Experience with ERP or CRM systems.
• Knowledge of a product manufacturing environment.
• Bilingual English/Spanish skills are helpful.
