Business Development Representative

• POSITION SUMMARY:

The Business Development Representative (BDR) will be responsible for assisting sales representatives, strengthening customer relationships, and developing new business opportunities to maximize the value of current and prospective accounts. This role involves a blend of proactive sales support, relationship building, strategy development, and program administration in the heavy-duty truck and diagnostic software industry. The ideal candidate will be results-driven, detail-oriented, highly communicative, and collaborative, with a talent for identifying and leveraging opportunities within a defined territory. ACCOUNTABILITY SUMMARY:

• To prospective customers: Deliver proactive, courteous, and professional service that fosters strong relationships.
• To Employees: Serve as a knowledgeable and supportive resource across sales and related departments.
• To Executives: Represent the company with professionalism, aligning actions to company values and objectives. Achieve quotas for opportunity creation and new business initiatives.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Territory Growth & Management: Develop and manage assigned sales territories, with a focus on expanding market presence and driving revenue growth.
• New Business Acquisition: Identify and pursue new opportunities through prospecting, cold calling, qualifying leads, and strategic networking.
• Lead Generation & Analysis: Partner with Marketing and leverage tools (e.g., HubSpot) to build targeted lead lists, analyze market data, and convert prospects into customers.
• Strategic Sales Initiatives: Support and execute sales programs including event coordination (e.g., Super Clinics), reseller relationship development, and targeted sales blitzes.
• Maintain accurate and up to date information within the CRM.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

• This job operates in a professional office environment. The role routinely uses standard office equipment.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

• High School Diploma or equivalent. Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Minimum two years of experience in a sales role preferred.

ADDITIONAL ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:

• Self-starter: demonstrated ability to work productively with minimal supervision.
• Experience maintaining strong, long-term customer relationships with significant add-on/repeat business.
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills for dynamic environment essential for market share growth.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Computer literate.
• Customer service oriented.
• Organized and detail oriented.
• Solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• This is largely a sedentary role; however, some filing is required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend and stoop as necessary.
• Ability to occasionally lift 20 pounds.

• 25%
