Description

About Us:

Maxima is the first agentic AI platform for enterprise accounting, purpose built to deliver SOX compliant, real time close. Our founders have experience coming from both sides of the problem: from overseeing the finance org at Rubrik, to building month-end close systems at Twitter and Netflix. We have raised the largest seed in history in the accounting space from Kleiner Perkins & Audacious Ventures and are backed by finance leaders at companies such as Rippling, OpenAI, and UI Path.

Role Overview

As a Business Development Representative (BDR) at Maxima, you’ll play a critical role in fueling our growth engine. You’ll be responsible for sourcing and qualifying new opportunities, driving outreach across multiple channels, and helping build a healthy, predictable pipeline for our Account Executives.

This role is ideal for a motivated, curious, and organized individual who thrives in a high-growth environment and wants to develop a strong foundation in enterprise SaaS sales. You’ll partner closely with the Sales, Marketing, and Product teams to identify high-value prospects and connect finance leaders with our transformative AI accounting platform.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prospecting & Outreach: Identify and engage potential customers through cold calls, emails, and social channels to generate qualified pipeline.

  • Qualification: Conduct discovery to understand prospect needs, pain points, and fit for Maxima’s solutions.

  • Pipeline Management: Collaborate with Account Executives to ensure smooth handoff and progression of qualified leads through the funnel.

  • Market Research: Stay informed on accounting automation, AI trends, and the evolving CFO technology landscape to sharpen prospect targeting.

  • Campaign Execution: Partner with Marketing on outbound campaigns, events, and targeted programs to generate interest and awareness.

  • Continuous Improvement: Contribute to team learning by testing new messaging, tools, and approaches for higher conversion rates.

Qualifications

  • 1–2 years of experience in Business Development, Sales Development, or a related sales role (preferably in SaaS or technology).

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills — you can articulate complex ideas clearly and confidently.

  • Highly organized with strong time management and follow-up skills.

  • Self-motivated and goal-oriented; thrives in a fast-moving, performance-driven environment.

  • Genuine curiosity about AI, automation, and the future of finance.

  • Experience using CRM and sales engagement tools (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot, Outreach) preferred.

  • Team-oriented, adaptable, and eager to learn from experienced GTM professionals.

Why Join Us:

  • Be a core part of a mission-driven startup looking to transform accounting processes.

  • Work in a fast-paced environment where your decisions directly impact GTM direction and company growth.

  • Develop a strong foundation in enterprise sales with a clear path toward Account Executive or other GTM roles.

  • Collaborate with a seasoned sales team and leadership with deep enterprise and fintech experience.

  • Competitive salary, equity, and benefits (401k, unlimited PTO)
