A bit about us:

We are seeking a Business Development Representative to join our Growth team. This position is responsible for identifying and developing new business opportunities through strategic planning, market research and analysis, business and technical proposal development, and corporate database management. The role also focuses on building and maintaining strong relationships with government agencies while providing guidance and support in contracting, quality systems, supply chain operations, and project life-cycle management. The Business Development Representative will play a key role in sustaining and expanding projects and employment opportunities within major lines of business under the AbilityOne Program.

Ideal candidate must be based in the West Coast region, specifically Arizona, California, Washington (Seattle area), Oregon, Nevada, or Utah, and be located near a major airport.

As a key member of our team, you will be at the forefront of our mission to identify potential business opportunities and execute marketing strategies targeted towards federal agencies. This role requires a commitment of 35% travel time, ensuring our business presence is felt across various regions.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage relationships with federal agencies, leveraging your understanding of DOD or federal contracting to secure lucrative business opportunities.
  • Utilize your negotiation skills to secure contracts and partnerships that align with the company's growth strategy.
  • Understand and apply knowledge of federal acquisition policies to ensure compliance in all business dealings.
  • Leverage market research to identify potential business opportunities and develop targeted marketing strategies.
  • Work closely with the sales and marketing teams to ensure coordinated efforts in business development initiatives.
  • Be an ambassador for the AbilityOne Program, promoting its benefits to potential partners.
  • Regularly report on business development activities, successes, and areas for improvement.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years experience in B2B sales, B2G, DOD or federal contracting.
  • Proven track record of successful negotiation and relationship management.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of federal acquisition policies and regulations.
  • Experience with the AbilityOne Program is highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify potential business opportunities through strategic market research.
  • Proven ability in developing and executing marketing strategies directed towards federal agencies.
  • Willingness to travel 35% of the time to meet with potential partners and attend industry events.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field is preferred.
