The Business Development Sales Executive will join the sales team of a market leader that serves as the digital backbone for the U.S. grain industry.  You will represent platforms that are essential infrastructure for over 400 major agribusinesses, you aren't just selling software—you’re providing the stability and innovation that helps feed the world.

The Sales Executive will manage a current book of business across approximately 100 accounts primarily between the Midwest and Eastern side of the US; traveling frequently throughout the month. You will work with clients to create solutions for their needs and consult through the sales process. Additionally, you will focus on prospecting and closing new logo business, sell into the current client base, and ensure customer retention.  Business development will consist of the use of internal leads, prospect lists, business referrals, and current customers.

You will develop a strong understanding of the product portfolio with the assistance of the product management and technical teams allowing you to offer prospective customers/clients core business value that makes an essential difference to their operations. You will work with clients to create solutions for their needs and consult through presentations and sales process.

Duties and Responsibilities 
  • Business development and account management through frequent meetings (onsite and virtual) cold calling by making multiple outbound calls to prospects daily 
  • Focused on new account acquisition (Sales Hunter) and revenue growth for the mid market segments 
  • Expert at applying our adopted sales stage methodology to ensure maximum revenue is generated from every opportunity created and shares this knowledge with others 
  • Expert knowledge of complex product selling 
  • Ability to successfully work and promote client's environment and requirements internally within inter-functional groups 
  • Proven ability to deliver contracted revenues meeting targets 
  • Prepare and deliver effective sales demos and presentations, drawing on expertise from other teams as required 
  • Large B2B sales experience 
  • Proactively manage an assigned portfolio of customers, building and maintaining strong long-term relationships 
  • Effectively and efficiently monitor, track and report on sales activity/performance using CRM system 
  • Travel frequently throughout the month 
  • Required to attend annual sales conferences, trade shows, technical training and customer visits. 

Requirements and Qualifications 
  • Bachelor’s degree in a Computer Science, Business/Management, Accounting, Agricultural Sciences discipline, or equivalent experience. Degree is not a requirement. 
  • Agribusiness sales technology background preferred 
  • Comfortable making cold calls and talking to new people all day 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; the ability to call, connect and interact with potential customers 
  • Persuasive and goal-oriented 
  • Possesses an energetic, outgoing, and friendly demeanor 
  • Eager to expand company with new sales, clients, and territories 
  • Self-motivated and self-directed 
  • Able to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently 
  • Degree in the area of business administration, and/ or computer or electrical engineering 
  • Sales experience in ERP sales (Infor, EPICOR, Oracle NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics ) 
  • 4 to 7 years of technology sales at enterprise level 
  • Ag industry experience a plus 
  • Management of $1M+ in revenue YOY 
  • Hunter mindset 
  • Track record proving the ability to sell into C level management while traveling 50-80% of the time 
  • Understand Challenger Sales, Consultative Sales, MEDDIC or other closely related sales philosophies
