POSITION OVERVIEW

Ready to start a career in mortgage lending and sales?

CMG Home Loans is looking for motivated recent college graduates and early-career professionals in the Charleston, SC area who are interested in building a career as a licensed Mortgage Loan Officer.

No mortgage experience is required. This is a paid training opportunity designed to give you hands-on experience, professional sales training, exposure to the mortgage industry, and preparation for the SAFE Mortgage Loan Originator licensing exam.

CMG will pay for your mortgage licensing, and successful Business Development Specialists typically have the opportunity to advance into a Licensed Loan Officer position within approximately 8–12 months, based on performance, licensing requirements, and business needs.

Candidates must currently reside in the Charleston, SC area and be able to work full-time on-site.

WHAT YOU’LL LEARN

As part of CMG Home Loans’ Consumer Direct Team, you’ll work alongside experienced Loan Officers and Sales Managers while learning the mortgage business from the ground up.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

• Make outbound calls to existing CMG customers to identify potential mortgage needs and connect interested customers with a Licensed Loan Officer.
• Contact prospective customers generated through CMG marketing campaigns and transfer qualified opportunities to the Loan Officer team.
• Speak with customers in a professional, helpful, and engaging manner.
• Learn CMG’s mortgage products, services, sales processes, and customer experience standards.
• Participate in sales training, mortgage education, and licensing preparation.
• Assist with marketing projects and initiatives designed to generate new customer opportunities.
• Work toward established activity, production, and development goals.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Must currently live in the Charleston, SC area
• Bachelor’s degree or recent college graduate preferred, but not required
• Interest in building a career in mortgage lending, financial services, or sales
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Comfortable speaking with customers by phone
• Motivated by goals and performance-based compensation
• Strong organizational and time-management skills
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
• High level of professionalism, integrity, and confidentiality
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and related applications
• No previous mortgage experience required

SCHEDULE & WORK LOCATION

This is a full-time, on-site position in Charleston, South Carolina.

• Monday through Friday
• Approximately 9:00 AM–6:00 PM
• One-hour lunch
• Weekends off
• Schedule may vary slightly based on business needs
• 40-hour workweek

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

PHYSICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS

This role operates in an ADA-compliant professional office environment and involves typical office activities, including computer and telephone work. The position may involve periods of stationary work as well as movement throughout the office. Occasional overtime may be required based on business needs.

COMPENSATION

$20.00 per hour plus performance-based commission.

The base hourly rate is equivalent to approximately $41,600 annually based on a 40-hour workweek. Employees may also earn up to approximately $2,000 per month in commission based on individual production and performance, providing potential total annual earnings of up to approximately $65,600.

In addition to base pay and commission, CMG provides paid mortgage industry training and company-paid licensing as you work toward becoming a Licensed Loan Officer.
