We are looking for a Business Development Technical Specialist to join our Mayer team Remotely in Virginia!SummaryThe Business Development Technical Specialist will be responsible for identifying and pursuing new business opportunities while leveraging technical expertise to support sales initiatives. This dual role requires a strategic thinker with a strong technical background, excellent communication skills, and a proven track record of driving revenue growth.What You'll DoBusiness Development: Be responsible for achieving specified sales and gross margin goals while increasing market share with existing customers and growing new and active customers utilizing technical specialtyParticipate as an integral member of Customer Collaboration Teams and Tactical Teams partnering with other sales individuals from within and outside of assigned marketLead and support sales efforts with key targets, key customers, and key opportunities in assigned product and/or area/regionBuild and maintain strong relationships with customers by providing exceptional service and support. Understand customer needs and recommend appropriate products to meet those needs. Address customer inquiries, concerns, and objections in a timely and professional mannerAnalyze market potential, develop an annual business plan based on market conditions, and lead execution with national technical, sales, and management teamSupplier Partnership: Develop and maintain strong relationships with key suppliersIdentify/develop appropriate supplier partners and negotiate regional costing/pricing levels. Coordinate product training and new product introductions. Support in assessing regional stock needs and fulfilment logisticsWork with sales team to ensure cohesive, coordinated market approachInterface with suppliers; coordinate product training and new product introductions as requiredTechnical Expertise: Pursue and/or coordinate pursuit of 3rd party engineering firms and contractors to close business associated with key strategic accountsCollaborate with engineering and product development teams to ensure alignment on product needsPresent proposals to all levels of leadership and technical audiencesParticipate in product meetings, seminars, and training schools to enhance and maintain personal and product knowledgeMentor and coach junior level team membersSales Strategy: Assist branches and customers with product and technical support. Make joint sales calls on all key, target, and new customersSupport in pricing and inventory needs.
