JOB TITLE: Business/Finance/Marketing CTE Teacher

REPORTS TO: Principal

WORKDAYS: 10 Months (204 Days)

SALARY: Certified Schedule CT (Level 1-4) ($51,040 - $102,410) Depending on degree level (recognized by ALSDE)

JOB DESCRIPTION: To facilitate student comprehension and application of concepts of skills and behaviors that contribute to the development of mature, able, and responsible members of society.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Demonstrate support for the school system and its vision, goals, and priorities.
  • Provide a rigorous curriculum that aligns with the Alabama Department of Education (ALSDE) and Career & Technical Education (CTE) Course of Study.
  • Sponsors a Career Technical Education Student Organization (CTSO) and participates in at least one program-related competition per year.
  • Adheres to school system rules, administrative procedures, local board policies, and state and federal rules and regulations.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, administrators, parents, school and agency counselors, and related service providers in the overall educational plan for students enrolled in the education setting.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of the individual education service and transition plan for students enrolled in the education setting.
  • Engages in professional growth & demonstrate professional ethics & leadership.
  • Use current technology for instruction and management purposes.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Ability to compile and analyze data, and interpret the laws, policies, and regulations pertaining to the work.

Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.

  • Effective oral and written communication.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in Business, Finance, Marketing, or in a related area AND (One of the seven listed below is required) American Marketing Association - Digital Marketing Pro American Marketing Association - Digital Marketing Expert Certified Financial Planner Chartered Financial Analyst CPA license Financial Risk Manager Microsoft Certified Educator OR
  • Valid Alabama Class B or higher Professional Educator Certificate endorsed in Business/Marketing Education, Business Education, or Marketing Education AND (One of the seven listed below is required) American Marketing Association - Digital Marketing Pro American Marketing Association - Digital Marketing Expert Certified Financial Planner Chartered Financial Analyst CPA license Financial Risk Manager Microsoft Certified Educator

Must meet Every Student Succeed Act (ESSA) federal and state requirements or a willingness to meet the requirements within the designated timeframe. Note: Employment experience gained in the private employment sector may be considered when filling specified positions, which are not traditionally in the education field, but include specialized training or certifications.
