Aspirus Health in Wausau, WI is seeking a BUSINESS HEALTH SYSTEM SUBSTANCE SPECIALIST to join our BUSINESS HEALTH team!

The Aspirus Business Health System Substance Specialist provides numerous and varied support within the Aspirus Business Health Department in the areas training staff for various type of substance collections, i.e. urine, saliva, breath, hair and nail for purposes of substance testing which include drug and alcohol, data entry, provide support to our Aspirus system as the specialist for support of DOT and NON DOT collection procedures, After Hours Collection consultation and maintain all records of Aspirus system certified collectors. This position will be responsible for maintaining contacts with Leadership for awareness of collector''s status across our system. The System Substance Specialist will follow all DOT collection regulations and enforce compliance of the DOT collection process to ensure Aspirus is compliant with DOT collection procedures and regulations. This position will require good communication skills as the individual will be our system trainer and will also need to follow up with Leadership to schedule and maintain collector certifications (5-year certification term). This position will also provide training and consultative services to external clients.

HOURS: Full Time 1.0 FTE, 80 Hours Biweekly

Experience/Qualifications

  • Knowledge of computer systems and applications normally acquired through completion of a High School diploma, an Associate Degree in Health or Business Administration is preferred.
  • Three years of Occupational Health or similar department experience is preferred.
  • Additionally, appropriate education may be considered with less than three years of Occupational Health experience.
  • Current or must obtain Trainer Certification in DOT drug screen collection and breath alcohol testing required within 3 months of hire date.
  • Ensure Aspirus system collectors complete substance collections using DOT regulations and recommendations for all collections regardless of request for DOT or NON-DOT collections.
  • Knowledge of healthcare administration principles, organizational policies, and procedures, along with proven ability to apply policy and principles to resolve everyday issues and deal with a variety of situations.
  • Proficient computer program skills with a high level of accuracy.
  • Skill in gathering, analyzing, anticipating, and interpreting information.
  • Possesses good written and verbal communication skills, ability to prioritize and coordinate work activities, and exercises initiative, problem solving and decision-making.
  • Ability to work with frequent interruptions.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
  • Ability to work effectively with clients, patients, staff, and community members.
  • Skill in developing and maintaining relationships with clients, medical staff, leadership, and the community members.
  • Ability to effectively work with co-workers, leadership, clients, and team members.
  • Ability to effectively provide training to clients, using good communication, public speaking skills and presentation skills.
  • Possesses and maintain a valid driver''s license to complete required travel.
