Solano Community College is seeking qualified applicants for a part-time instructor role to teach in person classes within the Business department as part of our Rising Scholars program. This entails teaching in person at two local correctional facilities: California Medical Facility and California State Prison Solano. The curriculum includes specialized courses in the legal environment in business, business communications, management, human relations, and marketing.
This is a part-time/adjunct faculty position. The teaching assignments may require teaching lecture-discussion coursesduringday, eveningor on Saturdayand/or in an on-line/distanceeducation format. The assignmentsare as needed, during Spring, Summer, and/or Fall semesters. The district may cancel classes or change instructors as enrollment needs are determined.
APPLICATIONPROCESSDETAILS:
Paid office hours are available to adjunct faculty in fall and spring semesters who teach a 40% assignment or more.
Instructors must also provide instruction in accordance with established course outlines and expectations; review curriculum and assess student learning; inform students about course requirements; prepare and grade assignments and examinations; meet administrative timelines and submit completed and required documents and reports; maintain required student attendance and scholastic records, and both communicate and work effectively with others.
Master's in business, business management, business administration, accountancy, finance, marketing or business education
OR Bachelor's in any of the above AND Master's in economics, personnel management, public administration, or Juris Doctor Degree (J.D.) or Legum Baccalaureus (LL.B.) OR Bachelor's in economics with a business emphasis AND Master's in personnel management, public administration, or Juris Doctor Degree (J.D.) or Legum Baccalaureus (LL.B.) OR the equivalent
