Business Intelligence Analyst

Job Summary - The Enterprise Data Services (EDS) team is seeking a highly curious and growth-oriented individual who is passionate about delivering data products that drive organizational strategic decision-making and surpass the expectations of the end-users. The Business Intelligence (BI) Analyst will work on all phases of the analytics lifecycle, including data collection, profiling, manipulation, storage, and validation, as well as data analysis, measure development, report creation, data visualization, and production support. The BI Analyst exercises independent judgment and discretionary decision-making related to managing multiple and more complex reporting projects but also collaborates with a larger team working in an agile process. The BI Analyst will participate in delivering data products and may present to various levels of management and staff and may also be included in action plan development. While performing the day-to-day tasks successfully in this role is critical, the BI Analyst must be outcome-based and keep the overarching project goals and vision at the forefront, and both make and execute recommendations to achieve those. Customer experience must be central to how the BI Analyst approaches their work.
We are seeking a team member that is excited about data and helping their customers solve business problems with high-quality data solutions. Candidates with a demonstrated track record of strong collaboration with both IT and non-IT customers, easily adapting to varying business domains, creating structure out of ambiguity, and delivering technically will be given preference in the hiring process.
Job Responsibilities:
Minimum Requirements:
Current resident of the State of Wisconsin
Associate's degree or above in Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science/MIS, or Engineering; or related field or experience.
At least one to three (1-3) years of experience in:
Enterprise Data Warehousing (EDW)
Speaking to technical people in this industry and understanding what a Data Warehousing application is supposed to look and function like
Understanding how the Star Schema works, what a fact table and data dimension are, and how they relate
Business Intelligence Analyst role and delivering data processes and products that drive organizational decision-making
Proficient in SQL language.
