    Location:  4601 W. Guadalupe, Austin, Texas 78751 (On-site Only)
    Please Note: Candidates must already reside in the Austin, TX area. Local candidates only.

    AtWork Personnel is seeking an experienced Business Intelligence Analyst Specialist for a long-term, on-site contract with the Texas Health and Human Services Commission in Austin. This senior-level role will focus on gathering business and technical requirements, translating them into actionable data solutions, supporting enterprise reporting, and helping users leverage AI tools for accurate data analysis and decision-making.

    Responsibilities
    • Gather business, technical, and data requirements and translate them into technical specifications and testing documentation.
    • Lead testing efforts by developing test plans, test cases, and full requirements traceability matrices.
    • Write complex SQL queries to extract, analyze, and validate data from multiple sources.
    • Build and validate reports, dashboards, and data visualizations using Power BI and/or Tableau.
    • Translate complex data requests into effective AI prompts and query strategies.
    • Create standardized AI prompt libraries and reporting templates.
    • Train and mentor non-technical staff on AI tools, data literacy, and reporting best practices.
    • Collaborate with IT, data engineering, and business stakeholders to resolve data issues and improve reporting quality.
    • Ensure compliance with data governance, reporting standards, and responsible AI practices.

    Required Qualifications
    • 10+ years of experience as a Business Analyst, Systems Analyst, Data Analyst, or similar senior analytical role.
    • 10+ years of experience gathering business requirements and translating complex data needs into technical solutions.
    • Advanced SQL experience for data extraction and manipulation.
    • Experience developing reports, dashboards, and visualizations using Power BI and/or Tableau.
    • Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
    • Experience creating testing documentation, including test plans, test cases, and traceability matrices.

    Preferred Qualifications
    • Experience with Business Intelligence and Data Warehouse environments.
    • Experience supporting Health & Human Services or other highly regulated organizations.
    • Knowledge of data governance and data quality principles.
    • Experience developing and delivering data literacy training.
    • Experience creating AI prompt catalogs using Streamlit/Python or similar tools.
    • Familiarity with responsible AI practices and governance.
