Description Amazon seeks a business intelligence engineer to be a key partner for the Amazon IX Advertising Sales business, with a range of products offerings for advertisers. We're looking for a top technical and analytical mind capable of extracting value out of our large and disparate data sets. You will influence the direction of the business by leveraging our data to deliver insights that drive decisions, evolution of our products and the way they fit into Amazon's ecosystem. Additionally, you'll help streamline and simplify the metric reporting needs for our operating cadences such as daily, weekly and monthly business reviews. Our ideal candidate is a self-starter, comfortable working through ambiguity, conceptualizing and leading complex initiatives from end to end, and has an entrepreneurial spirit. In addition to working with many stakeholders internally and externally, this role requires working through ambiguity, demonstrating good judgment under pressure and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Key job responsibilities Own the design, development, and maintenance of ongoing metrics, reports, analyses, dashboards, etc. to drive key business decisions - Own the forecasting model for IX countries and enhance the existing model to align with sales calls while minimizing forecasting errors. - Make recommendations for new metrics, techniques, and strategies to improve team performance and measurement in the future - Define the data elements and data structure that our team should leverage to enable analytical and reporting capabilities for our business development team - Design and influence operational best practices for reporting and analytics to enable the team to scale - Prepare and deliver business reviews to the senior management team regarding progress and roadblocks - Work with engineering and the data warehouse to enable the appropriate capture and storage of key data points - Enable effective decision making by retrieving and aggregating data from multiple sources and compiling it into a digestible and actionable format - Participate in strategic & tactical planning discussions A day in the life Your day will be a dynamic blend of data exploration, strategic problem-solving, and cross-functional collaboration. About the team The Ads Sales Finance team is a global group of 30+ Data and BI engineers who partner with finance managers, sales, and product stakeholders to build the forecasting, reporting, and analytics backbone for Amazon Ads. Our mission is to deliver scalable datamarts, models, and dashboards that standardize reporting across regions, minimize forecasting error, and provide leadership with the insights needed to make confident, data-driven decisions. As part of the team, you will collaborate across functions to solve complex problems such as handling massive data volumes, evolving product hierarchies, and aligning multiple upstream and downstream systems-directly impacting how Ads revenue is tracked, forecasted, and managed at scale. Basic Qualifications - 4+ years of analyzing and interpreting data with Redshift, Oracle, NoSQL etc. experience - 1+ years of SQL, ETL or Oracle experience - 4+ years of processing large, multi-dimensional datasets from multiple sources experience - 1+ years of performing statistical analysis experience - 1+ years of developing automated reporting experience - Experience with data visualization using Tableau, Quicksight, or similar tools - Experience with data modeling, warehousing and building ETL pipelines - Experience in Statistical Analysis packages such as R, SAS and Matlab - Experience using SQL to pull data from a database or data warehouse and scripting experience (Python) to process data for modeling Preferred Qualifications - Experience with AWS solutions such as EC2, DynamoDB, S3, and Redshift - Experience in data mining, ETL, etc. and using databases in a business environment with large-scale, complex datasets Amazon is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of protected veteran status, disability, or other legally protected status. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
