You will be responsible for developing and maintaining the company's reporting and analytics solutions, ensuring stakeholder access to accurate, optimally presented data for actionable insights. This role is the primary business‑facing representative of the data team and is expected to have expert knowledge of our data, including its structure, usage, and business meaning. Under the general supervision of the department director, the BI Engineer works closely with other engineers in the Data and QA teams and frequently interacts with end users and other stakeholders.Key ResponsibilitiesBusiness Intelligence DevelopmentDesign, build, and maintain reports, dashboards, and data visualizationsWrite optimized queries to support complex business analysis in reports and ad‑hoc queriesEnsure accuracy, reliability, and performance of all reports and analytics solutionsDrive development of advanced analytics capabilities with machine learning and AIStakeholder Engagement and SupportAct as primary point of contact for business users regarding reporting and data inquiriesConduct trainings and office hours to improve self‑service analytics adoption and outcomesGather and analyze business requirements, translating them into technical solutionsRespond to user tickets and bug reports in a timely mannerData Modeling and ETLAssist in designing and optimizing data models for reporting and analytics purposesWork with Data Engineers to define and improve data processes that serve reporting needsParticipate in troubleshooting and performance tuning of upstream data storage and processingOperational SupportMonitor and maintain the performance and availability of all reports and analytics solutionsTroubleshoot and resolve reporting‑related issues, ensuring minimal downtime for end usersIdentify opportunities for process automation and efficiency across the data environmentEnforce data governance policyCollaborationManage and prioritize work in ticketing systemMaintain regular communication in stand‑ups and stakeholder meetingsParticipate in code reviews to ensure adherence to best practices and high‑quality deliverablesContribute to technical documentation for processes, tools, and workflowsLeadership & MentorshipMentor other team members by sharing knowledge and providing guidance on best practicesTake ownership of complex projects, ensure timely delivery of solutions that meet requirementsAdvocate for adoption and usage of our tools and new technologies across the companyRequired Experience/QualificationsBachelor's degree or higher in Business Analytics, Information Systems, or other relevant degree/related field, or equivalent professional experienceExcellent communication skills with the ability to engage non‑technical stakeholders effectivelyExpert knowledge of reporting/data visualization tools (Power BI)Expert knowledge of one or more relevant languages (DAX, SQL, Python, R)Strong understanding of data modeling concepts and ETL best practicesExperience with version control systems and best practices (Git, GitHub)Knowledge of machine learning and AI concepts and their applications to business intelligenceStrong problem‑solving skills and the ability to work independently on complex tasksTypical Behaviors & Working StyleThe Ideal Candidate Will Demonstrate The Following Behavioral TraitsPreference for varied tasks or projects.
