Business Intelligence Tableau Developer

Summary

Our client is seeking a Business Intelligence Tableau Developer to support the migration of legacy reports from HTML-based solutions to modern BI tools using Tableau and/or ThoughtSpot. This role involves migrating reports from Oracle data sources to the enterprise data platform (Snowflake) while gathering requirements and designing curated data sources.

Responsibilities

• Work with Financial Regulatory Services business partners to gather requirements for BI dashboards and visualizations.
• Work with data engineers and SMEs to design and implement curated data sources in the enterprise data platform (Snowflake).
• Ensure data sources meet the needs of both BI tool applications and ad hoc query access efficiently.
• Take the lead role in designing, developing, and publishing Tableau, ThoughtSpot, or other BI tool solutions.
• Make recommendations for combining or altering applications and delivery platforms.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Analytics/Science, Information Systems, or related field; or at least 3 years relevant hands-on experience in data modeling and dashboard design.
• Expertise with Tableau, ThoughtSpot, or Power BI.
• Experience with the entire project lifecycle: requirements gathering, data transformation, modeling, visualization development, and deployment.
• Expert knowledge of SQL and experience with relational and non-relational databases (Oracle, Snowflake, PostgreSQL, MongoDB).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; demonstrated success with complex data challenges.
• Strong communication skills; ability to liaise with cross-functional teams.

Preferred

• Familiarity with Python, Java, or R.
• Experience with AWS, Google Cloud Platform, and Microsoft Azure Cloud Services.
• Domain experience with financial or insurance data.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies.

This is a 9-Month Contract opportunity with our Kansas City, MO client.
