    Job Description Summary

    Job Description:

    Wake Forest University School of Law invites lateral applications for a Distinguished Chair in Business Law to begin July 1, 2027. Although the precise course package is negotiable, preference will be given to applicants willing to teach both Contracts and Business Organizations, in addition to offerings such as Sales, Securities Regulation and/or Litigation, Mergers & Acquisitions, and Tax.

    Applicants should hold (or have held) a tenured position at an accredited U.S. law school. Applicants must demonstrate a continuing dedication to high-quality research and teaching. Practice experience is preferred.

    Review of applications will begin September, 2026 and continue until the positions are filled. Applications should be submitted as a single document including a cover letter, curriculum vitae, statement of research interests, and the names of three references.

Students can also get involved in more than 30 student organizations, and three legal journals: the Wake Forest Law Review, the Journal of Business & Intellectual Property Law, and the Journal of Law and Policy.  The law school also offers a semester in Washington, D.C., as well as a summer study abroad programs at beautiful Wake-owned properties in Venice and London. 

    Since 2017, Wake Forest Law has housed the North Carolina Business Court, joining only a select number of law schools in the nation that contain a working court. The court provides an excellent forum for students to see an actual working court in action, as the majority of the hearings are open to the public.
