Depending on experience level, individuals may perform engineering calculations, prepare and review design documents, coordinate with project teams, manage tasks or projects, provide technical leadership, mentor others, and support business development activities.Electrical system design is no longer as simple as lighting and power design overlaid onto an architectural background. Our engineers understand that the electrical system forms the foundation that makes the building come to life. It's a responsibility that we take very seriously. This role provides advanced technical expertise, leads teams, oversees project quality, mentors designers and engineers, resolves major design and construction challenges, and contributes to practice-level strategy, operations, and business development.Key ResponsibilitiesLead electrical engineering design from concept through completion for complex or large-scale projects.Direct or oversee the preparation of design documents, system layouts, detailed drawings, schematics, and specifications.Develop solutions to advanced and highly complex engineering problems, providing discipline-wide technical guidance.Serve as a mentor and coach across teams and practices, including supervising less experienced designers and engineers.Participate in or lead staffing recommendations, training initiatives, and technical strategy development.Provide quality oversight, including conducting and/or issuing final quality reviews to ensure compliance with standards and best practices.Communicate with clients, resolve conflicts, and provide leadership in responding to technical questions or design challenges.Lead or support strategic business development efforts and maintain key client and partner relationships.Serve as Engineer of Record when assigned, ensuring technical accuracy, accountability, and adherence to professional standards.Core CompetenciesLeadership & Influence: Inspires organizational culture, models integrity, and navigates ambiguity while motivating others.Coaching & Development: Mentors talent across the discipline, fosters continuous learning, and cultivates constructive feedback loops.Quality & Accountability: Drives high-quality outcomes, holds others accountable, and reinforces standards across the discipline.Collaboration & Inclusion: Resolves conflict with diplomacy, promotes inclusive teamwork, and contributes to a collaborative environment.Innovation & Professional Responsibility: Encourages innovation, maintains financial and technical responsibility, and stays current with industry advancements.Key QualificationsBachelor's degree in a relevant engineering field (electrical, mechanical, fire protection, or architectural)9+ years of relevant experienceProfessional Engineer (PE) license is strongly preferred, required for EOR's.Additional technical certifications (e.g., RCDD, NICET, CPD, LEED, WELL) highly preferred.Advanced to expert proficiency in electrical engineering design, applicable codes and standards, Revit, Bluebeam, and construction processes.Demonstrated ability to lead discipline coordination and manage complex or large-scale project scopes.MEP/Construction Industry experienceHigh technical aptitude: ability to learn, understand and utilize various systems and processes.Effective critical thinking and problem‑solving skills.Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite and engineering design software applicable to your discipline or focus.Clear communication and willingness to ask questions.Accountability, reliability, and ethical behavior.Commitment to accuracy and quality.Collaboration and receptiveness to feedback.Pay TransparencyIndividual salaries may be higher or lower than the stated range depending on factors unrelated to the applicant's race, color, religion, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, ethnicity, age, or disability.
