Scion Nonprofit Staffing has been engaged to conduct a search for a Business Manager for an innovative education services organization dedicated to supporting K-12 schools through strategic financial and operational solutions. This is an onsite opportunity based in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Business Manager serves as a trusted financial partner to public school leaders, providing high-level business management, accounting oversight, and operational guidance. This role will focus on leading accounting operations, supporting compliance, and strengthening client relationships. The ideal candidate is a collaborative leader who enjoys managing multiple priorities while delivering exceptional service and helping schools achieve long-term success.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Serve as the primary financial and business advisor for assigned public school clients, providing strategic guidance and operational support.
Lead accounting operations, financial reporting, budgeting, payroll oversight, grant management, and compliance with local, state, and federal requirements.
Supervise and mentor accounting staff while managing multiple client engagements and ensuring high-quality service delivery.
Build and maintain strong client relationships through proactive communication, problem-solving, and business partnership.
Oversee business office operations, establish effective financial controls, and identify opportunities to improve processes and efficiencies.
Support organizational growth by ensuring client satisfaction, retention, and successful implementation of business support strategies.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting is required.
Experience in school finance, school business operations, public sector accounting, or a supervisory accounting environment.
Strong knowledge of accounting principles, payroll, budgeting, financial reporting, and grant management.
Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office, along with experience using cloud-based business applications and accounting systems.
Excellent leadership, organizational, communication, and client relationship management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
Salary range of $80,000-$90,000.
