REPRESENTATIVE TASKS:
- Plans, organizes, assigns, and directs the work activities of subordinate staff in order to facilitate attainment of unit work goals and ensure consistent application of policies, procedures, and guidelines.
- Confers with and counsels subordinate staff in order to exchange information; explain work policies, procedures, and guidelines; and identify and solve work related problems.
- Manages unit operations and programs in order to establish operational priorities, coordinate operations with other functions, and ensure program objectives and standards are established and attained.
- Determines and requests staff, material, and equipment needed to support operations and programs managed in order to contribute to the formulation and justification of budgetary requests.
- Coordinates accounting functions in order to ensure fiscal transactions are properly recorded.
- Compiles fiscal data in order to assemble operating budget.
- Negotiates leases, agreements, or contracts in order to obtain facilities and/or services.
- Writes reports and financial statements in order to provide information on financial status and program activities.
- Analyzes operational and financial conditions in order to recommend improvements in policies and procedures.
- Analyzes and monitors spending trends in order to determine sufficiency of funds to meet program expenses.
- Implements and complies with human resource laws, policies, procedures and practices such as: AA/EEO, recruitment, employment, position classification, performance appraisals, training, discipline, contract administration, human resource components of security protocols of agency information security and confidentiality policies, and employee safety.
KNOWLEDGES, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
