Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Business Manager III for the School of Engineering. Reporting to the Senior Director for Business & Finance of the School of Engineering, this position assists with the organization, coordination, and administration of school financial and human resource operations. Responsibilities include: maintaining complete understanding and competency in all business and HR systems including ORACLE Budget/Finance, Procurement, CONCUR, ROCS, Payroll, scheduling. Assists in the implementation and maintenance of policies and procedures necessary to support accurate financial and personnel processing, safeguard university assets, and provide reliable information to internal and external stakeholders. Supports departmental business and personnel operations for seven academic departments and ensure compliance with institutional guidelines, contractual requirements including labor contracts, and mandatory reporting. Serves as a training liaison responsible for planning, organizing, and overseeing employee training in university required business and personnel systems. Provides oversight and problem solving to support SoE offices and departments for payroll processing, personnel transactions, departmental budgeting, account monitoring, purchasing, and other operational activities related to unrestricted, restricted, and endowment accounts. Works independently on assigned responsibilities while operating under the general direction of senior management. Performs professional work requiring knowledge of accounting, budgeting, payroll, and human resource administration principles and practices. Maintains effective working relationships with faculty, staff, university departments, and external contacts while supporting the operational and administrative goals of the School of Engineering.

Minimum Education and Experience - Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience that demonstrates comprehensive knowledge and understanding of generally accepted accounting principles and practices. A minimum of five years of relevant professional experience in a business/financial/accounting function.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities - Ability to work on multiple tasks simultaneously and in a professional/courteous manner when working with both internal and external constituents. Demonstrated analytical skills that allow for interpretation of budgetary, financial, and related management information. Excellent computer skills and experience using spreadsheet, charting, and other software tools, such as Microsoft Word, Excel (pivot tables), Access, PowerPoint, Tableau. Excellent attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy. Strong communication skills, with the ability to present and clearly articulate analytical results and findings to a diverse set of people with varying skill sets. Ability to interact and work effectively with diverse faculty, administrators, research staff, and SoE's senior management.
