Due to the available budget allocated for this position, the hiring rate will not exceed $38.22 per hour.

Why does the job exist?

This position will be responsible for the allocations of resources to achieve specific programs or function goals, objectives and performance measures. This position will manage and maintain control of all business office and financial operations of the facility to include expenditure, revenues, Capital and Fixed assets for the facility.

How does it get done?

• Process requisitions, purchase orders, payment vouchers, travel requests and travel reimbursements
• Update and maintain budget projections to include presenting current fiscal position to Division management on a monthly basis
• Route and track all personnel transactions

Who are the customers?

• New Mexico Corrections Department

Ideal Candidate

Experience in the following:

• Purchasing
• Accounts payable
• Share/PeopleSoft Financials or other financial program
• Budget management
• Supervision of employees
• Full fiscal budget administration and analysis

Minimum Qualification

Bachelors Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or Auditing, and one (1) year of experience in Accounting, Business Administration, Public Administration, Finance, or Auditing. Any combination of education from an accredited college or university in a related field and/or direct experience in this occupation totaling five (5) years may substitute for the required education and experience. A hiring agency may designate a portion of the required experience to include federal grant and/or special revenue experience, to be identified at the time of recruitment.

Employment Requirements

Must possess and maintain a Drivers License. Pre-employment background investigation is required and is conditional pending results.

Working Conditions

Work is performed in an adult prison environment, which includes daily contact with inmates. Willingness to work in a correctional facility, may be required to work odd hours, overtime, holidays, and weekends.
