Business Office Manager
We're seeking an experienced Business Office Manager to oversee the financial and administrative operations of our Alabama skilled nursing facility. This role owns the revenue cycle, resident trust accounting, and payer coordination that keep the facility financially sound and compliant.
What you'll do
Manage the full revenue cycle: private pay, Medicare, Medicaid, and managed care billing and collections
Guide residents and families through the Alabama Medicaid long-term care application process, from initial screening through approval and redetermination
Track pending Medicaid applications, resolve deficiencies with the local DHR/Medicaid office, and follow up on eligibility determinations
Coordinate with admissions on payer verification and level-of-care conversions
Maintain resident trust fund accounts in compliance with state and federal regulations
Oversee accounts receivable, aging reports, monthly close, and collections follow-up
Manage census reconciliation and ancillary charge posting
Supervise business office staff and serve as the facility's point of contact for financial matters
What you need
Working knowledge of the Alabama Medicaid application and eligibility process for long-term care, including required documentation, spend-down, resource limits, and redetermination timelines
Prior business office experience in a skilled nursing or long-term care setting
Familiarity with Medicare and Medicaid billing, resident trust accounting, and revenue cycle management
Strong organizational skills and the ability to work directly with residents, families, and state agencies
Experience with long-term care billing software and Excel
