Position Overview
Primary Purpose of Position
This position serves as the chief business, budget, and human resources liaison for all Extended Campus units, including Online Learning, Continuing Education, and Summer Sessions. The Business Officer provides strategic and operational leadership for financial management, budgeting, forecasting, and resource allocation in support of revenue-generating, self-supporting, and state-appropriated activities. The position partners closely with Extended Campus leadership to ensure compliance with University, UNC System, and State of North Carolina policies while supporting innovation, scalability, and long-term financial sustainability.
Primary Function of Organizational Unit
Focused on the needs of traditional and non-traditional learners, the Extended Campus unit proactively engages the N.C. A&T community and external partners to advance online education, professional and continuing education, summer programming, and lifelong learning initiatives. Extended Campus supports the University's strategic priorities by expanding access, increasing enrollment, differentiating revenue streams, and strengthening workforce and community engagement.
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Finance, Accounting, or a related field from an appropriately accredited institution; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
