Class Summary

Job Description

The Business Officer will be responsible for managing Gwinnett Countys on-demand printing services contract and providing fiscal and administrative support to the Communications Department.

Essential Duties

  • Managing and coordinating Communications Print Shop functions between print vendors and County departments
  • Overseeing and reviewing Communications Print Shop vendor performance to ensure adherence to the on-demand printing services contract and compliance with County policies and procedures relating to vendor contracts
  • Coordinating and presenting annual print shop training county-wide
  • Monitoring contracts through the finalization process for financial compliance and renewals
  • Assisting the business manager with procurement and invoice processes, requisition transactions, and departmental operating reporting and fiscal training
  • Assisting with the annual budget preparation, up to and including updating Line Item Justifications (LIJ)
  • Assisting with monthly/quarterly expenditure reports for leadership
  • Performing other duties of a similar nature or level

Public Speaking Duties

  • Leading the annual on-demand print services external vendor training
  • Presenting the on-demand print services reports to departmental leadership
  • Participating in the Countys annual supplier event

Other Job Requirements/Information

  • Technical knowledge of various paper stocks, weights, vinyls, and other printed materials
  • Technical knowledge of bindery and finishing tasks, such as cutting, folding, laminating and saddle stitching
  • Ability to audit incoming files for print readiness, such as ensuring compliance with bleed requirements, booklet imposition/pagination constraints, and colorspace

Grade

The grade for this position is 101. Salary will be dependent on education and experience.

Effective 4/11/2023, this position is eligible for the Employee Referral Program.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, print production management, contract management, accounting, or finance AND
  • Two years of professional level business administration, print production management, contract management, accounting, or finance experience
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above will also be considered.

Preferred Qualifications in addition to the above minimum qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience in exceptional customer service skills and attention to detail
  • Any technical printing knowledge or training, end-user print services management, contract management
