KC Mechanical – Commercial Kitchen Appliance Solutions
Colchester, VT | In-Person

About KC Mechanical

KC Mechanical is a locally owned Vermont company specializing in commercial kitchen equipment repair, installation, and preventive maintenance. We serve schools, healthcare facilities, restaurants, and institutional kitchens across Central and Northern Vermont.

We are growing and investing in stronger internal systems to support that growth. This role is designed for someone early in their career who wants meaningful responsibility and a clear path into operations leadership.

The Opportunity

We are hiring a Business Operations & Project Coordinator to support daily operations, provide scheduling and parts backup coverage, and lead internal improvement projects.

This is not a purely administrative role. You will be exposed to how a real service business runs — financially, operationally, and strategically.

If you’re analytical, organized, and want to grow into a leadership role over time, this is a strong platform.

What You’ll Do

1. Scheduling Support (Primary Backup)

  • Cross-train in technician scheduling and dispatch

  • Provide PTO and high-volume coverage

  • Assist with schedule adjustments and customer communication

  • Help balance preventive maintenance and emergency service calls

2. Parts & Inventory Backup

  • Assist with special-order parts and returns

  • Help process warranty claims

  • Track backorders and ETAs

  • Support inventory counts and truck stock consistency

(Primary ownership of parts remains with the Parts Manager.)

3. Special Projects & Operational Initiatives

Support and lead projects such as:

  • Fleet maintenance tracking and cost analysis

  • Technician tool standardization

  • Industry and regulatory research (refrigerant changes, certification requirements)

  • Recruiting and marketing support initiatives

  • Process documentation and workflow improvement

4. KPI & Reporting Support

  • Assist with tracking technician productivity

  • Support weekly operational reporting

  • Help review job margins and operational trends

  • Build basic Excel-based dashboards

What We’re Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Supply Chain, Engineering, or related field

  • 0–2 years of professional experience

  • Strong Excel skills

  • Organized and detail-oriented

  • Comfortable in a fast-paced, blue-collar service environment

  • Willing to learn and take ownership

  • Calm under pressure

This is an in-person role due to daily collaboration with scheduling, parts, and technicians.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Annual performance bonus opportunity

  • Health insurance

  • IRA with company match

  • Paid time off

  • Paid holidays

  • Clear growth path into Operations leadership
