Our client, a Energy Services company, is looking for a Business Operations - Business Intelligence Analyst - Advanced for their Austin, TX location.
 
Responsibilities:
  • The Senior Business Intelligence and Data Analytics Analyst is a senior individual contributor within Global
  • Internal Audit responsible for designing, building, and delivering advanced analytics and AI-enabled solutions that enhance audit coverage, risk identification, and business insight.
  • Operating with a high degree of independence and judgment, this role translates complex and often ambiguous audit and business questions into scalable, defensible, and actionable analytics.
  • The role partners closely with audit teams and cross-functional stakeholders to integrate data-driven insights into audit execution, SOX and operational reviews, and enterprise risk activities.
  • In addition to delivering high-quality analytics, the analyst influences analytical approach, and contributes to standards, reusable assets, and continuous improvement of the audit analytics capability.
  • Design and deliver advanced analytics and AI-enabled solutions that enhance audit coverage, risk identification, and business insight.
  • Translate complex and ambiguous audit questions into clear, defensible, and actionable analytics aligned to audit objectives.
  • Partner with audit teams and cross-functional stakeholders to embed data-driven insights into audit execution, SOX, and operational reviews.
  • Independently scope analytics initiatives, provide level-of-effort estimates, and manage delivery against agreed priorities and timelines.
  • Apply strong data governance, privacy, and controls discipline to ensure analytics are accurate, compliant, and audit-ready.
  • Perform data validation, reconciliation, and quality checks to ensure integrity and traceability from source to output.
  • Develop reusable, well-documented analytics assets and mentor junior analysts to support consistency and continuous improvement.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of the audit analytics capability.
 
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s Degree Required Masters Degree – Data Science, Business Analytics or relevant field
  • Years of experience 5+
  • Strong proficiency in data analysis, querying, and visualization, with the ability to design clear, well-documented, audit-ready analytics solutions.
  • Advanced SQL and Python skills to support data preparation, analysis, validation, and automation; working knowledge of statistical and analytical methods.
  • Experience building dashboards and visualizations using modern BI tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) and supporting data pipelines and transformations.
  • Mechanical Skills N/A
  • Computer Skills MS Office 365, Copilot Studio, Jira/Confluence, code generators (e.g. claude code, github, etc.), Tableau, Power BI, React
  • Solid understanding of data governance, data quality, and data privacy requirements when handling sensitive information.
  • Ability to align analytics outputs to audit objectives, risk criteria, and controls frameworks (e.g., SOX, ITGC, process controls).
  • Strong attention to detail, including reconciliation, validation, and traceability from source data through final outputs.
  • Ability to independently scope analytics work, estimate effort, and manage delivery across multiple priorities.
  • Experience leading day to day execution using Agile/Scrum practices, including running standups, managing backlogs, and removing blockers.
  • Organized and disciplined in documenting work, maintaining artifacts, and following project and pipeline best practices.
