    About LOVB and LOVB Miami

LOVB Miami Volleyball is League One Volleyball’s professional team in Miami, playing its inaugural LOVB Pro season in 2027. Built from the grassroots up through a network of junior volleyball clubs, LOVB Miami is part of the only professional league in the United States with a fully integrated youth-to-pro ecosystem. The club is shaping a new vision for professional sports in one of the world’s most dynamic markets, built on elite competition, community, and the advancement of women’s volleyball.

LOVB Miami is backed by a best-in-class ownership group of experienced operators and passionate volleyball supporters. We are building the first and greatest women’s sports franchise in Miami, with deep resources, a network second to none, and unmatched ambition to be the best. Our ownership group is committed to a franchise that reflects the culture, energy and diversity of Miami: a cultural anchor of the community and an international beacon for women’s sport with deep connectivity to Latin America.

This is a founding role. You will help build a professional sports club from a blank page in one of the most competitive and most international sports markets in the country.

    The Role

The Business Operations Manager keeps the club running. You are the connective tissue between finance, people operations, vendors, the venue, the league and the front office: the person who owns the unglamorous infrastructure that determines whether everything else works.

In a club this size, the role is deliberately broad. It covers budget tracking and reporting, contracts and vendor management, human resources coordination, office and technology, match day operations support, travel and logistics, compliance, and the club’s merchandise and retail operation. You will not have a large team. You will have systems you built.

This role suits someone who is genuinely energized by making things orderly and who wants exposure to every corner of a professional sports business.

    What You’ll Own

    Finance and budget operations

    • Maintain the club operating budget, track spend against plan and produce monthly variance reporting.
    • Manage accounts payable and receivable workflow, purchase orders, expense reporting and corporate card administration in coordination with league finance.
    • Support the annual budgeting and forecasting cycle with departmental leads.
    • Coordinate revenue reporting and match settlement with Ticketing and the venue.

    Merchandise and retail operations

    • Own merchandise inventory end to end: forecasting, ordering, receiving, stock levels, reorders, storage and cycle counts across retail and e-commerce.
    • Run matchday retail operations, including floor setup, point of sale, staffing, cash handling and nightly reconciliation, in coordination with the venue and any retail partner.
    • Administer the club e-commerce store with league digital and the fulfillment partner: listings, pricing, order fulfillment, returns and customer service escalation.
    • Manage licensed product and supplier relationships, purchase orders, cost of goods, margin and sell-through reporting.
    • Partner with Fan Experience and the Event Coordinator on assortment, product drops, theme night merchandise and giveaway items, so retail supports the brand and promotional calendar rather than lagging behind it.
    • Administer internal merchandise: player and staff allocations, partner and hospitality gifting, and community donation requests.

    Contracts and vendor management

    • Maintain the contract repository and calendar of renewals, obligations and deadlines.
    • Manage vendor onboarding, procurement, insurance certificates and W-9 collection.
    • Support contract review and routing with league legal.
    • Negotiate and manage routine service agreements covering office, equipment, staffing, retail and logistics.

    People operations

    • Coordinate recruiting logistics, onboarding, offboarding and the employee lifecycle with league people operations.
    • Administer payroll inputs, benefits enrollment support, time off tracking and personnel records.
    • Manage seasonal, game day and retail staff hiring, scheduling, credentialing and payment.
    • Support internship program administration and the club’s culture and team events.

    Match day and event operations

    • Serve as an operations lead on match days, supporting venue logistics, staffing, credentials, load-in and load-out alongside the Event Coordinator.
    • Coordinate with the venue on advance planning, staffing requirements, security and settlement.
    • Manage credential systems, guest lists and visiting team requirements.
    • Support the coaching and performance staff on equipment, facility and practice logistics.

    Team travel and logistics

    • Coordinate team and staff travel: flights, hotels, ground transport and meals, within budget and league standards.
    • Manage equipment and uniform inventory, ordering and shipping.
    • Own the club’s calendar of operational deadlines and league reporting requirements.

    Office, technology and compliance

    • Manage the club office, facilities, supplies and equipment.
    • Administer technology and systems access, hardware, software licenses and IT vendor relationships.
    • Maintain insurance, licensing, permitting and regulatory compliance records.
    • Establish and document operating procedures as the club grows.

    First-Season Priorities

Almost nothing exists yet. Priorities include:

    • Core operating systems live: budget tracking, expense workflow, contract repository and vendor onboarding.
    • A merchandise operation ready before the inaugural home match: opening assortment ordered, inventory system in place, retail footprint and staffing model set, and e-commerce live.
    • A documented match day operations plan and staffing model, built with the Event Coordinator.
    • Onboarding, credentialing and seasonal staffing processes built and tested.
    • A reliable monthly reporting rhythm for club leadership and the league, including merchandise sell-through.
    • A documented operations manual so the second season does not start from memory.

    What You Bring

    Required

    • 4 to 7 years in business operations, finance, banking, mgmt consulting,  general management support, or sports, entertainment or another live event environment.
    • Strong spreadsheet skills, including budget tracking, variance analysis and building clean reporting.
    • Experience with contracts, vendors, procurement and the administrative side of an organization.
    • Exceptional organization and follow-through, with the judgment to prioritize when everything is urgent.
    • Discretion with confidential financial and personnel information.
    • Availability to work evenings, weekends and holidays during the competition season.
    • Ability to lift and move equipment, stock and materials during events.

    Preferred

    • Experience at a startup, expansion club, or organization in its first years of operation.
    • Retail, merchandise or inventory management experience, including point of sale and e-commerce platforms.
    • Familiarity with sports league reporting requirements and salary or roster compliance frameworks.
    • Experience with accounting, HRIS or payroll platforms.
    • Professional working proficiency in Spanish or Brazilian Portuguese.
    • Event or venue operations background.
    • Comfort with systems implementation and process documentation.

    Who We’re Looking For

    • Intellectually curious. You want to understand how businesses and categories really work, and you learn fast.
    • A first-principles thinker. You reason from the ground up, and consensus alone does not move you.
    • Energized by ambiguity. You do your best work without a playbook and bring structure to undefined problems.
    • Off-the-charts EQ. You read people and rooms well, and you earn trust quickly with founders and operators.
    • Low ego. You care about the outcome over the credit, change your mind when the facts do, and let the best idea win.
    • A high velocity operator. You treat speed as an edge, moving with purpose and deciding faster than expected.
    • Relentlessly resourceful. You find a way, improvising and exhausting every option before accepting no.
    • Drawn to hard problems. You run toward the fire and take ownership of whatever is broken.
    • Mission-aligned. You believe deeply in the LOVB youth-to-pro vision and the long-term opportunity in women’s sports.

    How Success Is Measured

    • Budget accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting.
    • Merchandise revenue, margin, sell-through and inventory accuracy, with shrinkage controlled.
    • Vendor and contract compliance, with no missed renewals or lapsed obligations.
    • Smooth match day operations, with issues resolved before they reach leadership.
    • Quality of onboarding and staff experience.
    • Documented, repeatable processes in place by the end of season one.

    Benefits

Benefits include medical, dental and vision coverage; 401(k) with company match; paid time off; paid parental leave; and team merchandise and ticket allocation.

This is a full-time position based in Miami, Florida. Availability for all home match days, including evenings and weekends throughout the LOVB Pro season, is required.
