Position Summary
The Business Process Engineer (BPE) is a key member of the Enterprise Architecture team, responsible for ensuring business processes, operational workflows, and technology solutions are aligned to drive efficiency, scalability, and business value.
This role works closely with Enterprise Architects, Solution Architects, technology delivery teams, and business stakeholders to analyze current-state processes, identify opportunities for improvement, and design future-state workflows that are enabled through effective technology solutions. The Business Process Engineer helps ensure systems are designed around optimized business processes rather than existing operational constraints.
The ideal candidate combines strong process analysis and process improvement expertise with a solid understanding of how enterprise applications and technology platforms support business operations. This individual will play an important role in enterprise transformation initiatives, process modernization efforts, and continuous improvement programs.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze, document, and evaluate current-state business processes across operational and technology-enabled workflows.
- Identify process bottlenecks, inefficiencies, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
- Design future-state business processes that align with organizational goals, enterprise technology strategy, and operational objectives.
- Collaborate with Enterprise Architects to ensure technology and architecture decisions support optimized business processes.
- Partner with Solution Architects, development teams, and business stakeholders to translate process requirements into system capabilities and technology solutions.
- Identify automation opportunities and recommend technology-enabled improvements to increase efficiency, consistency, and scalability.
- Facilitate cross-functional workshops and discussions to align stakeholders on process improvements, requirements, and future-state workflows.
- Support large-scale business and technology transformation initiatives through process analysis, process redesign, and implementation support.
- Develop and maintain process maps, operational workflows, business process documentation, and related artifacts.
- Communicate project status, findings, recommendations, and progress updates to business and technology stakeholders.
- Monitor process improvement outcomes and recommend ongoing enhancements to drive operational excellence.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, Engineering, Operations Management, Technology, or a related field.
Experience
- 5 to 7 years of experience in business process analysis, business process engineering, operational excellence, process improvement, business architecture, or a related discipline.
- Experience mapping, analyzing, and redesigning business processes.
- Experience working with enterprise applications and technology-enabled operational processes.
- Experience collaborating with business stakeholders and technical teams to implement process improvements.
- Experience supporting organizational transformation, modernization, or continuous improvement initiatives.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working within an Enterprise Architecture organization.
- Certification or training in Lean, Six Sigma, Continuous Improvement, Business Process Management (BPM), or related methodologies.
- Experience supporting workflow automation initiatives and digital transformation programs.
- Knowledge of business architecture frameworks, process modeling techniques, and enterprise technology environments.

- Strong knowledge of business process analysis, process improvement, and operational excellence methodologies.
- Understanding of how enterprise technology systems, applications, and platforms enable business processes.
- Ability to evaluate complex operational environments and identify opportunities for optimization and automation.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to develop structured, scalable process solutions.
- Ability to document process flows, operational models, and process requirements clearly and accurately.
- Strong facilitation and stakeholder management skills across technical and business organizations.

- Ability to prioritize multiple initiatives and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
