PGS Worldwide is seeking a Business Process Mapping Engineer in Sterling Heights, MI for a one-year contract-to-hire role supporting a leading aerospace & defense company.

The Business Process Mapping Engineer will support digital transformation efforts by mapping, modeling, and improving business processes across engineering, finance, manufacturing, supply chain, and other cross-functional teams. This role focuses on identifying process gaps, reducing waste and redundancy, optimizing data and tool flows, and helping move the business toward an integrated digital enterprise.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Manufacturing, or a relevant equivalent field.
  • Minimum 6 years of relevant experience.
  • 6 years of experience with business process mapping and modeling.
  • 6 years of hands-on experience with process improvement projects.
  • 6 years of proven work experience as a Business Process Engineer or similar role.
  • 6 years of process gap identification and process flow optimization recommendation experience.
  • 6 years of experience mapping processes to roles, responsibilities, tools, and data flow.
  • 3 years of experience using digitalization mapping tools such as Prime BPM.
  • Knowledge of business process management principles and best practices.
  • Experience creating process maps and flowcharts.
  • Experience assessing existing business processes and identifying waste, redundancy, or lack of clarity.
  • Experience designing efficient business processes that meet business needs and objectives.
  • Experience leading Kaizen events.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent presentation skills.
  • Ability to collaborate with business units, stakeholders, and team members to gather process information and requirements.
  • Ability to maintain process models in a configuration-controlled environment.
  • No security clearance required.

Preferred Skills

  • 10 years of relevant experience.
  • Master's degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Manufacturing, or a relevant equivalent field.
  • Experience with structured problem-solving techniques.
  • Knowledge of technical requirements and systems relevant to combat vehicles.
  • Knowledge of Agile metrics and experience using them to report to team members at all levels.
  • 1+ years of Scrum or Agile management experience.
  • In-depth knowledge of engineering and/or manufacturing environments.
  • Project management experience.

What You'll Do

  • Map business processes within and across engineering, finance, manufacturing, supply chain, and other cross-functional departments.
  • Create process maps and flowcharts that document activities, roles, responsibilities, data flows, and tool/software usage.
  • Gather process information and requirements from business units, stakeholders, and team members.
  • Assess existing processes and identify areas of waste, redundancy, unclear ownership, or process gaps.
  • Recommend process flow optimizations and improvement opportunities.
  • Design efficient and effective business processes aligned to business objectives.
  • Support deployment of process changes, including communication, training, and post-deployment feedback.
  • Train and guide staff members on new processes and procedures.
  • Monitor and analyze the effectiveness of new processes and recommend adjustments as needed.
  • Maintain process models in a configuration control environment.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert supporting the transition from digital process tools to a fully integrated enterprise-wide digital business process environment.
  • Ensure business processes comply with applicable industry regulations and standards.
  • Travel up to 10% as needed.

Work Schedule / Shift

  • 9/80 schedule.
  • No overtime expected.

Pay

  • $47.42/hour
