    Job Description

    Stand8 provides end to end IT solutions to enterprise partners across the United States and with offices in Los Angeles, New York, New Jersey, Atlanta, and more including internationally in Mexico and India.

    The Business Resiliency Specialist will lead Business Continuity, Disaster Recovery, Crisis Management, and Operational Resilience initiatives in a complex operational environment. This role will assess organizational risks, develop recovery strategies, coordinate resiliency exercises, and support response efforts during major disruptions. The specialist will collaborate with technology teams, business leaders, risk management, physical security, facilities, vendors, and executive leadership to strengthen organizational resilience and continuity.

    Key Responsibilities
    • Lead and facilitate Business Impact Analyses across business units to identify critical functions, business and IT dependencies, Recovery Time Objectives, and Recovery Point Objectives.
    • Design, document, maintain, and continuously improve Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery plans.
    • Align continuity strategies with disaster recovery, infrastructure resilience, cybersecurity, and corporate standards.
    • Conduct risk assessments to identify mission-critical systems, operational vulnerabilities, single points of failure, system dependencies, and third-party vendor risks.
    • Develop recommendations and execution plans to reduce operational and enterprise risk.
    • Coordinate and lead tabletop exercises, disaster recovery drills, and crisis simulation exercises.
    • Prepare After Action Reports, document lessons learned, and track corrective actions through completion.
    • Integrate continuity and recovery requirements into daily operations, vendor agreements, business processes, and technology initiatives.
    • Develop and deliver resiliency training and awareness programs for employees and business teams.
    • Assist the Crisis Management Team during live disruptions by providing information, coordinating communications, and tracking response milestones.
    • Administer and optimize business continuity management software tools.
    • Ensure the resiliency framework complies with applicable regulations, data privacy laws, and industry standards, including ISO 22301.
    • Perform other related duties as assigned.
    Qualifications

    Required:
    • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business Information Systems, Risk Management, Emergency Management, or a related field.
    • Six or more years of experience developing business resiliency frameworks, managing large-scale exercises, or developing disaster recovery strategies in complex operational environments.
    • Six or more years of experience with business process improvement and business impact analysis.
    • Demonstrated ability to integrate recovery requirements into enterprise operations.
    • Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and overlapping project timelines.
    • Experience leading meetings and communicating project progress, risks, and issues to stakeholders.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Ability to explain technical risk concepts to non-technical business leaders.
    • Familiarity with business continuity management software such as Fusion Risk Management, Castellan, Everbridge, or ServiceNow BCM.
    • Certified Business Continuity Professional certification from DRI International.
    Preferred (Optional):
    • Management consulting experience.
    • Business continuity certifications such as CBCP, AMBCI, or CRISC.
    • Project Management Professional certification.
    • Experience working effectively in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
    • Experience supporting business continuity, disaster recovery, crisis management, or operational resilience programs.
