Role description

Job Title: Senior Application Support Analyst

Work Location: Glen Allen, VA (Onsite)

Job Description

  • We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Application Support Analyst to support and enhance business critical insurance applications
  • The role will focus on ensuring production stability efficient defect management and strong collaboration across business and IT teams within an Agile delivery environment

Key Responsibilities

  • Customer Support Issue Resolution
  • Provide exceptional support to internal and external users by addressing inquiries and resolving application issues
  • Identify workarounds and deliver user guidance or training as needed
  • Production Support Defect Management
  • Triage production defects reproduce issues and document findings with clear supporting evidence
  • Assign defects to appropriate Scrum teams and track resolution progress

Requirements Acceptance Criteria

  • Define detailed acceptance criteria for production defects in collaboration with business users Product Owners PRS and development teams
  • Ensure completeness and alignment of requirements across stakeholders
  • Agile Collaboration
  • Partner with Scrum Masters and Product Owners to ensure timely and highquality resolution of JIRA defects
  • Contribute to sprint activities and continuous improvement initiatives

Process Improvement Documentation

  • Continuously enhance support processes to improve efficiency and quality
  • Maintain high quality documentation including JIRA tickets knowledge articles and operational procedures

Reporting Governance

  • Provide regular status updates metrics and insights to the reporting manager
  • Support governance and reporting requirements for production support

Testing Development Support

  • Assist with development and testing activities to ensure timely issue remediation
  • Create and execute test scenarios and test cases for system and integration testing

Knowledge Management Leadership

  • Conduct knowledge transfer sessions and mentor team members on business processes and application functionality
  • Demonstrate ownership in managing complex initiatives and driving them to closure

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Systems or related field or equivalent experience
  • 5 years of experience in application support within the Insurance domain preferred

Required Skills

  • Strong ability to translate technical concepts into business-friendly communication
  • Excellent analytical problem solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Proven experience in Agile Scrum environments and defect lifecycle management JIRA
  • Strong organizational and facilitation skills with the ability to drive issues to closure
  • Effective stakeholder management across business and IT teams
  • Excellent verbal written and presentation skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in fast paced environments
  • Strong commitment to quality client service and continuous improvement

Variable Compensation: This position includes a bonus or variable payout component based on individual and organizational performance. Actual compensation within the range will be dependent upon the individual''s skills, experience, performance and internal equity.
