How your work would contribute to our organization and the Twin Cities region:
The Business Systems Analyst 2 or 3 (BSA 2/BSA 3) will provide data quality support and analysis for business operations as well as systems administration for HASTUS, iDash and other software used by the department. This position exists to leverage resources to deliver cost effective and reliable transit services. Responsibilities include problem identification, analysis and resolution; supporting software end users; maintaining security and permission structures; assisting with user training; running reports; developing and writing ad hoc queries; testing software patches; tracking and analyzing bus operator staffing information; providing support in the bus and rail operator time and attendance process and bi-weekly payroll generation for approximately 1,500 employees.
This position will be filled as either a BSA 2 or 3 based on qualifications and experience. This position has a flexible/hybrid schedule (in office 2 days per week) and free parking is available onsite.
Full Salary Range:
BSA 2 - Grade G, $39.69 to $64.41 (hourly) or $82,555 to $133,973 (yearly)
BSA 3 - Grade H, $42.90 to $69.63 (hourly) or $89,232 to $144,830 (yearly)
This posting will establish a six (6) month eligibility pool for current and future openings.

The BSA 3 is distinguished from the BSA 2 by the need for broader understanding of business systems, greater degree of independent judgment exercised and autonomy and responsibility to perform more complex modifications and configurations within the system. BSA 3 incumbents have a significant role in system analysis, problem identification, and the recommendation/ implementation of solutions to high level management. Positions lead organization-wide teams on system implementation projects and serve as a champion for business process improvements.
What education and experience are required for this job (minimum qualifications)
BSA 2:
Any of the following combinations of progressively responsible experience in management analysis or related experience as a business systems analyst (with significant experience running reports and working with data) AND completed education degree in finance, economics, business administration, management information systems, or related field;
BSA 3:
Any of the following combinations of progressively responsible experience in management analysis or related experience as a business systems analyst (with significant experience running reports and working with data) AND completed education degree in finance, economics, business administration, management information systems, or related field;
