Division Summary:

MITRE's Enterprise Business Systems and Operations Division (EBSOD) focuses on delivering and supporting business systems and processes to enable our leaders and employees to deliver impact, make data driven business decisions, and find opportunities.

Roles & Responsibilities:

The EBSOD Platforms team is seeking a Business Systems Support Analyst to support multiple financial and related systems using technologies native to those platforms, to query and analyze data using SQL and advanced Excel tools, and to manage workstreams and work within a Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe). The majority of the systems are SaaS platforms in support of core Finance functions: Costpoint for core accounting functions, Unison CLM for contracts management, Ivalua for procurement, etc. In this role, you should have the skills and demonstrated experience in business requirements gathering, functional specification write-up, prototyping, system configuration, quality testing, user acceptance testing, roll-out and post-launch enhancements implementation. You should be analytical and an excellent communicator with strong problem-solving skills. You should have previous experience in managing small to medium size projects and collaborating with - stakeholders, business system owners, leadership and system end-users/customers.

Areas of Responsibility:

  • Work with business partners to elicit requirements and capture business needs.
  • Translate business requirements into executable system requirements.
  • Analyze user requirements, current operational procedures, and problems to automate processing or improve existing applications.
  • Troubleshoot, analyze and implement solutions for issue resolutions including researching and documenting system errors and resolutions.
  • Work with software developers to develop special programs for data integrations, data automation, data entry/export, and data analysis functions.
  • Proactively monitor system performance, including application interfaces and jobs, and identify potential issues.
  • Work with vendor support teams to report and resolve system issues.
  • Coordinate project delivery by participating in design reviews and walk-throughs to communicate systems designs and validate solutions.
  • Engage with customers to incorporate usability and user interface needs.
  • Proactively resolve customer satisfaction issues.
  • Conduct training sessions for customers and team members as needed.
  • Provide support assistance for new software releases or upgrades.
  • Off-hours support of upgrades as needed.
  • Rotational on-call responsibilities.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Requires a minimum of 5 years of related experience with a Bachelor's degree; or 3 years and a master's degree; or a PhD with relevant experience who can immediately contribute at this job step; or equivalent combination of related education and work experience.
  • 3+ years experience in supporting business systems or business processes.
  • Broad IT domain experience in the following IT areas: Application Support and Maintenance, Business Process Management, Project Management, System and Data Integrations, Quality Control/Assurance, and
  • Experience in eliciting requirements, creating business requirements documents and business process flows to facilitate the implementation and support of technical solutions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for explaining complex insights in a clear and concise manner to non-technical team members and stakeholders.
  • Proficient in handling multiple tasks simultaneously, meeting deadlines, and flexibility to change priorities when needed.
  • Demonstrated analytical problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient with querying data with SQL or Microsoft Excel (including working with pivot tables and advanced formulas).
  • This position requires a minimum of 50% hybrid on-site

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Domain experience with financial systems, ideally Costpoint or other government cost accounting systems Experience working in a production operations support environment by monitoring, documenting, researching, solving problems via phone calls or ticketing system.
  • Familiarity and experience with Agile methodologies and software (Jira, Confluence).
  • User and system support experience with Unison CLM (or other contracts management system), Ivalua (or other procurement system), or other financial-related systems.
  • Experience with Microsoft Power Point or Visio for presenting and describing problems and system solutions.
  • Experience working simultaneously with one or more SaaS platforms and implementations.
  • Exposure to Artificial Intelligence features within SaaS platforms and/or for general work assistance/productivity
  • Familiarity working in government or government contracting industry.
  • At least 3 years of related experience including user support or customer services experience.
  • Exposure to government contracting accounting.
  • Familiarity with Mulesoft or other integration platforms.
  • Experience with data integrations (e.g., Denodo, ETL tools), data engineering, and data warehousing.
