Business Systems Analyst

Location: South Central PA
Engagement Type: Long-term contract
Work Schedule: Hybrid - onsite Monday through Thursday, remote Friday

Overview

We are seeking a Business Systems Analyst to support IT initiatives within a global manufacturing environment. This role works closely with business and technology teams to understand needs, improve processes, support enterprise applications, and help deliver effective technology solutions. The ideal candidate is a strong communicator who enjoys solving business problems and working across teams.

Duties

• Collaborate with business and IT stakeholders to identify needs, document processes, and improve system workflows.
• Translate business requirements into clear functional specifications and technical requirements.
• Support IT projects from planning through implementation, including documentation, training, and change management activities.
• Assist with QA testing, user acceptance testing (UAT), and resolution of system issues.
• Provide day-to-day support for enterprise, custom, and third-party applications.
• Help monitor project progress, risks, dependencies, and deliverables while maintaining clear communication with stakeholders.
• Participate in process improvement initiatives and peer reviews.
• Support SOX controls, audit documentation, and IT compliance activities.
• Work with cross-functional teams and vendors to resolve issues and deliver business solutions.
• Help ensure applications and services meet established IT service level expectations.

Required Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in IT, MIS, Business, or a related field, or equivalent IT experience.
• 2+ years of experience in IT, business analysis, application support, or a related area.
• Experience working in a manufacturing environment, particularly within a global organization.
• Experience gathering requirements, documenting business processes, and working with technical teams.
• Familiarity with ERP systems such as SAP, Infor, Baan, or e-Emphasys.
• Understanding of software testing, including QA and user acceptance testing.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work effectively with both technical and business stakeholders.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a collaborative, cross-functional environment.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with ERP integrations or third-party business applications.
• Familiarity with Agile and Waterfall project methodologies.
• Exposure to SOX compliance, IT controls, or audit documentation.
• Experience with workforce analytics, dashboards, or data reporting tools.
• Exposure to change management, vendor coordination, or project coordination.
• Ability and willingness to travel domestically or internationally as needed.
• Strong business acumen and a customer-focused approach to solving problems.
