    Description

    Business Systems Analyst Description

    Business Systems Analyst Performs IT functions such as design, analysis, evaluation, testing, debugging, and implementation of applications programs supporting company business processes and operations. Analyzes, installs, acquires, modifies, and supports operating systems, database, or utilities software. Plans, conducts, and directs the analysis of business problems to be solved with automated systems. Analyzes, designs, acquires, and implements projects for LAN and/or WAN systems. Plans, designs, acquires, and implements telecommunications, voice/wire systems. At higher job levels may contribute to the development, testing, evaluation, or design of system or infrastructure architecture used throughout the IT solution set.

    Specific Responsibilities

    • Provides technical expertise in identifying, evaluating, and developing systems and procedures that are cost effective and meet user requirements.
    • Configures system settings and options, plans and executes unit integration and acceptance testing, and creates specifications for systems to meet business requirements.
    • Designs details of automated systems. May provide consultation to users in the area of automated systems.
    • May lead cross-functional linked teams to address business or systems issues.

    Note: May be internal or external client-focused, working in conjunction with Professional Services and outsourcing functions. May include company-wide web-enabled solutions.
