Location: Owings Mills, MD

Onsite Flexibility: Hybrid 2 days per week in office (Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday)

Job Summary

The main function of a Business Systems Analyst is to perform the analysis, design, implementation, modification, and daily functional support of all applications. This is a Senior Business Analyst role focused on Adobe Campaign, Adobe Journey Orchestration (AJO), and Data Analysis. The team is running additional campaigns around Adobe Campaign, which has created the need for this contractor, and there is also ongoing maintenance work related to campaigns within Adobe. The role is part of a small, collaborative team where members wear multiple hats, with a daily stand-up at 9:30 AM with approximately 15 people, and approximately 5 team members focused on campaigns.

Key Responsibilities

  • Works with key stakeholders within all business functions to align technology solutions with business strategies
  • Gathers requirements from business units and translate those to programmers and developers
  • Prepares cost-benefit and return-on-investment analyses to aid in decisions on system implementation
  • Demonstrates an informed knowledge of business functions to resolve problems and capitalize on improvement opportunities
  • Supports one or more highly complex business processes
  • Works on multiple projects as a project team member
  • Serves as a liaison between the business community and the IT organization in order to provide technical solutions to meet user needs
  • Ability to analyze data, define data requirements, and identify ETL outputs and issues
  • Some manual testing and data validation required
  • Works directly with business partners and developers

Required Skills

  • Adobe Campaign experience required (ideally version 7 or 8)
  • Basic knowledge of programming languages in order to comprehend reading code and basic functions
  • Ability to create business solutions that increase competitive advantage
  • Ability to exercise good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions
  • Project management skills in order to handle diverse projects, often times simultaneously, and meet aggressive deadlines
  • Ability to solve technical problems/processes and understand complex details
  • Ability to increase operating efficiency with produce high quality technical solutions
  • A high level of interpersonal and verbal communication skills necessary to relate to other people at their systems knowledge level
  • Ability to analyze complex situations and problems and do the necessary research using multiple sources of information to arrive at innovative solutions
  • Strong background in data analysis
  • Manual testing experience including developing test plans and test cases
  • Strong communication skills; role works directly with business partners

Preferred Skills

  • Adobe AJO (Adobe Journey Orchestration) heavily preferred
  • Adobe AEP experience strongly preferred
  • Data analysis / ETL analysis preferred (such as data modeling, Informatica, SnapLogic, or other data analysis experience)
  • Experience developing specifications for ETLs (plus)
  • Familiarity with Adobe FAC (they are currently standing this up; experience is a plus)
  • ETL tools: Informatica and SnapLogic are used today, experience with this is a plus; open to candidates with experience in other ETL tools as well
  • Other Adobe Experience Cloud preferred (such as AEP, FAC, AJO, Analytics)

Education Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field such as computer science, computer engineering, or related field required
  • MBA or other related advanced degree preferred

Required Experience

  • 8 10 years of experience required

Work Environment / Physical Requirements

  • Hybrid: 2 days per week in office; in-office days can be Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday
  • Office location: Owings Mills
  • Daily stand-up at 9:30 AM with approximately 15 people
  • Small, collaborative team environment where members wear multiple hats

Important Notes

  • Interview process: 1 2 interviews total; initial phone screen, followed by a panel interview with the hiring manager and 2 3 additional technologists; interviews are likely virtual
  • Open to candidates with remote or relocation background, but they must be essentially a perfect candidate from an experience and skillset standpoint
