We are currently recruiting a Business Systems & Integration Analyst for a locally owned and operated freight forwarding company in Saratoga County, NY. This role is responsible for supporting, maintaining, and improving the company's freight forwarding technology systems. This role provides support for internal business applications, develops reports and automation using SQL and Python, manages technical integration projects with customers, vendors, and internal systems, and serves as an admin for CargoWise,
The position works closely with operations, finance, customer service, sales, management, external partners, and software vendors to improve system usage, resolve application issues, streamline workflows, and deliver reliable data and integrations across the business. This role reports to the Director of IT & Systems.
Key responsibilities
" Provide application support for internal systems, including the company's customer portal and other in-house software tools.
" Build, maintain, and improve reports and automation scripts using SQL, Python scripts, AI/LLM's, and other reporting tools.
" Troubleshoot system issues, document problems, coordinate resolutions, and escalate to vendors or developers when needed.
" Support data analysis requests from operations, finance, sales, and management.
" Manage technical projects involving EDI integrations, customer/vendor data feeds, system interfaces, and automation.
" Support API integrations between CargoWise, internal applications, customer systems, vendor platforms, and other third-party software.
" Gather business requirements from users and translate them into technical specifications or project plans.
" Evaluate system changes, integrations, reports, and application enhancements before deployment.
" Create documentation for processes, integrations, reports, system configurations, and user procedures.
" Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency through automation, better data flow, and system enhancements.
" Work with external software providers, customers, vendors, and internal stakeholders to complete technology initiatives.
" Serve as an admin for CargoWise, including configuration, workflow support, and system maintenance.
Required Skills and Experience
" 3+ years of experience supporting business systems, preferably in freight forwarding, logistics, transportation, customs brokerage, or supply chain.
" Working knowledge of CargoWise or another transportation management system.
" 3+ years of experience writing and troubleshooting SQL queries.
" 3+ years of experience using Python for reporting, automation, data processing, or system support.
" Understanding of EDI, APIs, flat files, data mapping, and system integrations.
" Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
" Ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical users.
" Experience gathering requirements and supporting business process improvements.
" Strong documentation and project coordination skills.
Preferred qualifications
" Direct CargoWise administration experience.
" Experience with customer portals, shipment visibility tools, or logistics web applications.
" Familiarity with freight forwarding operations, including air, ocean, customs, trucking, warehousing, and billing workflows.
" Experience working with REST APIs, JSON, XML, SFTP, AS2, CSV, and EDI formats such as ANSI X12 or EDIFACT.
" Experience with Metabases, Excel reporting, and other business intelligence tools.
" Advanced understanding of database structures and data quality management.

Compensation

$80,000 $100,000 annually depending on experience
