The position is expected to operate with a high degree of autonomy, manage ambiguity, establish technical direction within assigned initiatives, and own solutions from requirements definition through deployment and ongoing support.

Role Focus: This is primarily a software development, systems integration, reporting, automation, and business process improvement role. It may provide limited enterprise application administration and technical support, but it is not a traditional help-desk, network administration, or general IT infrastructure position.

  • Provide technical recommendations to leadership, communicate tradeoffs and risks, and establish practical implementation approaches aligned with company priorities.
  • Manage multiple initiatives while maintaining system stability, data integrity, security, documentation, and effective stakeholder communication.

Software Development, Data and Integration

  • Develop, maintain, troubleshoot, and improve internal applications, utilities, scripts, services, reports, dashboards, forms, and workflow automations using C# and other approved technologies.
  • Design, develop, document, and support APIs, web services, middleware, database interfaces, and other approved integration methods connecting enterprise applications and external systems.
  • Manage, extend, maintain, and document data contracts, schemas, data models, mappings, and interfaces across new and existing software applications.
  • Develop and maintain SQL queries, views, stored procedures, data extracts, reports, validation routines, and database processes supporting business operations.
  • Diagnose and resolve application, integration, authentication, data synchronization, transaction, performance, and data quality issues.
  • Plan and execute controlled data imports, exports, conversions, corrections, validation, and testing activities.
  • Apply appropriate source control, testing, change management, deployment, backup coordination, revision tracking, and production release practices.

Enterprise Business Systems

  • Support and improve Epicor ERP programming, reporting, data extraction, workflow automation, user-facing processes, and approved integrations.
  • Support PRO.File PLM configuration, engineering data flow, document control, revision-related processes, reporting, and approved integrations.
  • Develop and maintain advanced Excel-based operational tools, including structured workbooks, formulas, validation, reporting, controlled templates, macros, and data cleanup processes.
  • Support SharePoint lists, libraries, site structures, permissions coordination, document workflows, data organization, and approved Microsoft 365 integrations.
  • Support ClickUp workflows, dashboards, automations, task templates, reporting, and process visibility for engineering and operational teams.
  • Support interfaces and controlled data processes associated with SolidWorks and other engineering applications without serving as the primary CAD designer.
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders and external providers on application support, backup, recovery, access, and specialized technical matters when required.

System Reliability, Security and Documentation

  • Monitor recurring system issues, perform root-cause analysis, document corrective actions, and coordinate resolution with stakeholders or external vendors.
  • Support approved VEEAM backup monitoring, recovery verification, and documentation activities in coordination with management and external IT resources.
  • Assist with application access, permissions review, user setup, account changes, and data protection activities when assigned.
  • Protect company, customer, financial, engineering, and proprietary information by following confidentiality, secure access, cybersecurity, and data handling requirements.
  • Maintain clear technical and user documentation, including solution designs, integration specifications, data dictionaries, mappings, test plans, deployment notes, support procedures, and user instructions.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

The Ideal Candidate Will

  • Have demonstrated success owning business software solutions from an initially ambiguous need through implementation and ongoing support.
  • Understand business processes, ask effective questions, distinguish symptoms from root causes, and convert user needs into practical technical requirements.
  • Be equally comfortable collaborating with non-technical stakeholders and performing hands-on software development, data analysis, and troubleshooting.
  • Exercise sound judgment, work independently, communicate risks and status clearly, and follow through on commitments.
  • Build maintainable solutions that balance immediate operational needs with long-term reliability, supportability, security, and data integrity.
  • Thrive in a cross-functional manufacturing environment where engineering, production, quality, commercial, and administrative systems are interconnected.

  • Ability to discover and document business requirements, evaluate alternatives, and independently deliver practical software solutions.
  • Experience with source control, structured testing, change management, deployment, and maintainable technical documentation.
  • Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting, communication, organization, and follow-through skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy, system stability, data integrity, security, and stakeholder alignment.

  • Familiarity with SolidWorks-related engineering data, file structures, drafting workflows, or CAD/PDM integrations. Direct CAD design experience is not required.
  • Familiarity with VEEAM or comparable backup and recovery platforms.
  • Experience in engineered-to-order manufacturing, fabrication, industrial equipment, oil and gas, or project-based business environments.
  • Experience supporting digital transformation, workflow automation, data governance, or enterprise systems integration initiatives.

Experience and Education
