JOB SUMMARY:
The Business Systems Support Specialist is a hands-on commercial systems and master data specialist who keeps critical Quote-to-Cash processes operating accurately and efficiently. The role performs and governs day-to-day work across pricing, customer master, item and product maintenance, EDI, order management, and related ERP processes. It is best suited for someone who has directly maintained commercial data and configurations in Oracle or a comparable ERP environment and understands how those changes affect orders, invoices, customers, products, and downstream systems.
This is not a traditional project-focused Business Systems Analyst position. The Specialist spends a significant portion of the role investigating operational issues, completing controlled system and data maintenance, validating results, and keeping transactions moving. The position also independently handles complex exceptions, applies sound judgment within established controls, recommends improvements, supports projects and testing as a functional subject matter expert, and helps strengthen standard work and data governance.
The role partners closely with Order Management, Sales Operations, Finance, IT, Supply Chain, Customer Support, Product Management, and global counterparts. Success requires a balance of detailed execution, business process knowledge, analytical problem solving, customer focus, and the ability to communicate clearly across functions.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Hands-on Commercial Systems & Data Support
+ Serve as a subject matter expert for commercial systems and Quote-to-Cash processes.
+ Provide day-to-day support and maintenance for ERP and commercial systems while ensuring data accuracy and integrity.
+ Create, update, validate, and audit commercial data and configurations, including customer accounts and hierarchies, item and product attributes, pricing, discounts, terms, promotions, cross-references, and related controls.
+ Process approved data loads, mass updates, system configuration changes, and operational requests in accordance with established approvals, documentation, and control requirements.
+ Support product lifecycle activities, including new product introductions, product changes, transfers, reinstatements, and obsolescence across ERP, PLM, PIM, CRM, and eCommerce processes.
+ Support EDI trading partner onboarding, customer and item setup, transaction monitoring, testing, exception correction, and issue resolution.
+ Complete and support commercial and finance-related transactions such as pricing corrections, credit or invoice adjustments, customer account maintenance, and other approved Quote-to-Cash requests.
Operational Issue Resolution and Customer Support
+ Monitor and triage tickets, EDI exceptions, system errors, and urgent business requests based on customer impact, operational risk, and business priority.
+ Investigate pricing, customer, item, order, invoice, EDI, and system issues to determine whether the cause is data, configuration, process, training, or a system defect.
+ Resolve business-owned data and configuration issues directly; gather clear evidence, business context, and steps to reproduce when escalation to IT is required.
+ Coordinate with Order Management, Finance, Sales, IT, and other partners to resolve time-sensitive issues and communicate status through completion.
+ Document issue details, decisions, corrective actions, and resolution steps to improve consistency and reduce repeat work.
Governance, Controls, and Quality
+ Act as a steward for commercial master data, pricing governance, process controls, and system configuration standards.
+ Validate completed changes and perform audits or spot checks to confirm accuracy, downstream impact, and compliance with approved business rules.
+ Maintain complete records and supporting documentation for internal, Fortive, and external audit requests.
+ Identify control gaps, data quality risks, and recurring errors; recommend and implement practical corrective actions.
Process Improvement and Functional Expertise
+ Identify opportunities to simplify business processes and improve stakeholder experience while balancing operational efficiency, governance requirements, and customer needs.
+ Lead investigation and resolution of complex system and process issues.
+ Lead, facilitate and contribute functional expertise to cross-functional projects and Kaizen events while balancing project work with daily operational priorities.
+ Apply FBS principles including PDCA, Daily Management, Root Cause Problem Solving, Standard Work, and Kaizen.
+ Develop standard work and performance metrics to sustain improvements.
+ Develop and maintain standard operating procedures, job aids, training materials, process flows, and other documentation for repeatable work.
+ Support system implementations, enhancements, and deployments by providing business requirements, process context, test scenarios, user acceptance testing, defect documentation, and production validation.
+ Coach business users and teammates on correct processes, system usage, and controls, helping build capability and self-sufficiency.
+ Use operational metrics and work queues to identify trends, prioritize improvements, and prevent requests from stalling.
+ Foster a culture of continuous improvement by sharing best practices and helping teams adopt more effective ways of working.

Required Qualifications:
+ Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Systems, Operations, Supply Chain, Finance, or equivalent work experience.
+ 5+ years of relevant experience in ERP operations, commercial operations, business systems support, master data, order management, pricing administration, customer operations, or a related function.
+ Hands-on experience using Oracle, SAP, or another enterprise ERP to maintain or support at least two of the following: pricing, customer master, item or product data, order management, EDI, billing, or Quote-to-Cash processes.
+ Experience executing and validating data maintenance, uploads, mass changes, and system configuration updates in a controlled business environment.
+ Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot transactional and system issues, identify root causes, and coordinate sustainable resolution across business and technical teams.
+ Strong attention to detail and a record of maintaining data accuracy while managing multiple requests, priorities, and deadlines.
+ Experience documenting operational procedures, standard work, process flows, business rules, or system requirements.
+ Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work effectively with business users, functional leaders, and IT partners.
+ Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel for data review, reconciliation, validation, and analysis.
Preferred Qualifications
+ Oracle Fusion or E-Business Suite experience, especially Order Management, Advanced Pricing, customer master, item setup, accounts receivable, or related commercial modules.
+ Experience with EDI trading partner setup, transaction troubleshooting, cross-reference maintenance, or EDI customer onboarding.
+ Experience supporting PLM, PIM, CRM, eCommerce, ServiceNow, Power BI, or other systems connected to commercial operations.
+ Knowledge of master data management, data governance, audit controls, and change management practices.
+ Experience with user acceptance testing, requirements gathering, process mapping, system implementations, or business process improvement.
+ Working knowledge of Fortive Business Systems (FBS), Lean, Six Sigma or continuous improvement methodologies.
