    Job Description

PTI, LLC (a subsidiary of NMC International SA) is seeking an experienced Business Unit Controller to lead the financial and accounting activities of their single-site manufacturing operation. The Business Unit Controller will serve as the finance leader at the plant and will be responsible for the accuracy, timeliness, and integrity of the subsidiary's financial information. This position will partner closely with the Plant Manager and operational leadership to drive profitability, improve working capital, monitor manufacturing performance, and support sound business decisions.

The individual will report directly to the Parent Company Director of Finance and will work closely with the parent company's finance organization on consolidated reporting, budgeting, forecasting, treasury, tax, and other corporate finance activities. This is a leadership position suited for an individual who is equally comfortable managing the monthly close, managing team members, and analyzing the operational drivers of the business.

    What You’ll Do

    • Financial Reporting and Accounting
      • Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual close for the subsidiary, delivering accurate and timely financial statements and management reporting.
      • Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP, company accounting policies, internal controls, and reporting requirements.
      • Prepare, review, and approve journal entries, account reconciliations, accruals, and related accounting activities while maintaining the integrity of the general ledger.
      • Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash activity, fixed assets, inventory accounting, and other core accounting functions.
      • Coordinate year-end audit and tax requirements with external auditors, tax professionals, and other service providers.
    • Treasury and Working Capital
      • Manage day-to-day treasury and cash activities in coordination with parent-company policies and finance leadership.
      • Oversee invoicing, cash application, collections, customer credit exposure, payments, and aging management.
      • Maintain short-term cash flow forecasts and communicate anticipated cash needs to the parent company.
    • Manufacturing and Cost Accounting
      • Maintain and monitor standard costs, bills of materials, routings, and manufacturing overhead rates.
      • Analyze material, labor, overhead, purchase price, production efficiency, scrap, and other manufacturing variances.
      • Monitor inventory valuation, reserves, obsolescence, and adjustments, partnering with operations to improve inventory accuracy and working capital.
      • Evaluate profitability by product, customer, and production line, and identify opportunities to improve gross margin and EBITDA through pricing, productivity, labor efficiency, sourcing, and scrap reduction.
      • Develop and monitor meaningful financial and operating metrics for the plant.
    • Planning and Business Partnership
      • Coordinate the annual operating budget with the Plant Manager and parent finance team, and prepare monthly forecasts with clear variance explanations.
      • Build financial models and analyses for capital expenditures, productivity initiatives, pricing decisions, and other business opportunities.
      • Translate operational results into financial impact and communicate the key drivers to plant and corporate leadership.
      • Prepare parent-company reporting packages and support consolidated reporting, forecasting, budgeting, and other corporate finance initiatives.
      • Partner with corporate finance on cash management, capital expenditures, debt, insurance, tax, and other centralized functions.
    • Team Leadership and Continuous Improvement
      • Lead, coach, and develop the local accounting and finance team.
      • Set clear responsibilities, processes, and performance expectations while maintaining appropriate segregation of duties.
      • Identify opportunities to automate and streamline accounting and reporting processes.
      • Build a culture of financial discipline, accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

    What You Bring

    • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

    • Seven or more years of progressive accounting or finance experience, preferably within manufacturing.

    • Hands-on experience with manufacturing cost accounting, inventory, monthly close, and financial reporting.

    • Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and a demonstrated ability to deliver against tight reporting deadlines.

    • Strong Excel and financial analysis skills, with the ability to move from detailed accounting work to operational insight.

    • Experience partnering directly with operational leaders and communicating effectively across plant and corporate teams.

    • Ability to work independently while collaborating closely with a parent-company finance organization.
