POSITION SUMMARY
The Business Unit Manager owns an assigned geographic area and its assets — the development, growth, management, and execution of all MSCO merchandising business within it. This role trains, manages, and supports the Merchandising Managers in the territory, ensures store resets are executed to standard, and serves as the operational owner of every program running in the market.
PRIMARY JOB FUNCTIONS
This position is responsible for the assigned geographic area and its assets, including the development, growth, management, and execution of all merchandising business for Merchandising Services Co. Responsibilities may include: - Ensuring all company and safety policies and procedures are followed and communicated to the team appropriately
- Training, managing, and supporting the Merchandising Managers in the assigned territory
- Ensuring the execution of store resets, including developing standard operating procedures (SOP) and schedules
- Reviewing Do Forms to confirm completion and satisfaction of all store resets
- Submitting timely payroll approvals, expense reporting, and hotel tracking
- Participating in and executing hiring and termination procedures within the assigned territory and as needed
- Serving as the point of contact for client communication on programs running in the territory
REQUIREMENTS, EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & EQUIPMENT - Must be at least 18 years old and possess a valid Real ID–verified driver’s license or passport for air travel. Additionally, must have reliable transportation and provide proof of auto insurance
- Required to possess and safely operate an insured personal vehicle suitable and appropriate for the job — a truck, van, SUV, or car capable of pulling your own trailer with a hitch
- High school diploma/GED required; Associate or Bachelor degree preferred
- Prefer 3 or more years of Beverage (CSD/Beer) industry background, to include resets and merchandising of beverage coolers and center store products — however, we will train the right candidates
- Prior management and/or recruiting experience desired
- Must possess excellent communication and organizational skills
- Required to possess a smartphone device capable of submitting payroll and reports
- Must possess a PC or laptop
- Must be able to travel frequently — approximately 8–12 weeks per year, with company-provided hotels — within the assigned business unit or other MSCO territories as needed
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORKING CONDITIONS - Regular time in-store on your feet, with bending, reaching, and lifting light to moderate product as programs require
- Working inside cold vaults, walk-in coolers, and other refrigerated areas during store visits
- Approximately 8–12 weeks of travel per year, including overnight hotel stays
- Extended screen and administrative time for scheduling, payroll approvals, and reporting
