We are looking for a talented Business Unit Supervisor - 3rd Shift to join our team specializing in Manufacturing for our CDBS (Cummins Drivetrain and Braking Systems) location at York, SC.

To be successful in this role you will need the following:


+ Operational Discipline: You need the ability to consistently drive SQDCP performance by keeping safety, quality, delivery, cost, and people metrics on track across fast‑moving production areas.

+ People Leadership: You need strong coaching, accountability, and team‑building skills to develop hourly employees, sustain engagement, and maintain a positive, high‑performance culture.

+ Real‑Time Problem Solving: You need the capability to monitor production hour‑by‑hour, respond quickly to downtime, and partner effectively with maintenance, engineering, and support teams to minimize disruptions.

+ Communication & Continuous Improvement: You need clear communication across shifts, strong adherence to safety and 5S standards, and the ability to use data, KPIs, and visual tools to identify gaps and drive ongoing process improvements.


Education, Licenses, Certifications:

College, university or equivalent degree required, or equivalent experience required. This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.


Experience:

Supervisory experience preferred.


+ Resource Planning & Allocation: Forecast labor and equipment needs, adjust staffing levels, and coordinate cross‑training to ensure production areas remain fully supported.

+ Cross‑Functional Coordination: Partner with supply chain, materials, and logistics teams to ensure component availability, prevent bottlenecks, and maintain smooth production flow.

+ Performance Coaching & Documentation: Conduct regular check‑ins, provide constructive feedback, and maintain accurate performance records to support development and accountability.

+ Escalation & Issue Resolution: Lead timely escalations for critical issues, facilitate problem‑solving discussions, and ensure corrective actions are implemented and sustained.

+ Training & Skill Development: Ensure team members receive proper onboarding, skills training, and certification updates to perform their roles safely and effectively.

+ Audit Readiness & Compliance Support: Prepare production areas for internal and external audits by maintaining documentation, verifying standards, and supporting audit walkthroughs.

+ Workforce Engagement & Recognition: Promote morale by recognizing achievements, encouraging idea sharing, and fostering a culture where employees feel valued and heard.

+ Support for Strategic Initiatives: Contribute to plant‑wide projects, cost‑reduction efforts, and long‑term operational strategies that enhance productivity and competitiveness.
