The primary responsibility of the busser is to support the service staff by cleaning and clearing tables, resetting and re-plating at the direction of the server.
RESPONSIBILTIES
Busser is to be omnipresent on the dining room floor at lunch and in the polishing station at dinner
Responsible for supporting the service staff by cleaning and clearing tables
Responsible for resetting and re-plating at the direction of the server
The bus staff can be counted on to maintain stocked service stations throughout service
Bus staff and server assistants are not one in the same. Bussing staff is not trained the same as server assistant's (S.A.'s). They are not interacting with guests but are focused on maintaining a clean and clear restaurant. They are members of the support staff and are tipped out daily
Must have basic knowledge of customer service
Must have a friendly demeanor when present in the restaurant
Ability to work in a fast-paced atmosphere while keeping a professional demeanor
Ability to stand or walk during an entire 8-10-hour shift
Must be able to perform other related tasks designated from the management
QUALIFICATIONS
Must be at least 18 years of age
Minimum of 6 months of customer service, retail sales, or food service experience preferred
Demonstrated ability to interact with the public and coworkers in a friendly, enthusiastic and outgoing manner
Must be able to lift plates from table waist level up to 20 lbs., approximately 20 feet sometimes involving stairs
