Busser

The Busser is responsible for the overall front of the house look.  It is this person who will maintain the cleanliness of the floors, walls, tables, and the customer view areas. They will be responsible for restocking the bus stations with required list and zoning. The busser will also be responsible for the initial table setting, assisting with table maintenance throughout the meal and final clearing of all tables.  

Essential Job Functions:

• Properly set tables for service
• Perform bread and water service
• Have working knowledge of food and beverage menu
• Assure guests have everything they need on the table for service
• Complete knowledge of Steps of Service
• Pour and refill water for guests, when needed
• Know proper coffee & hot tea service
• Refill coffee and hot water for hot tea
• Working knowledge of specialty coffees
• Assist servers with keeping tables free of dirty dishes, empty glassware and debris
• Keep side stations clean and organized
• Maintain all daily, weekly and monthly maintenance of the restaurant
• Empty garbage and linen bag when full
• Sweep and mop restaurant and bathrooms 
• Properly change bag in a box soda weighing up to 40 lbs.
• Communicate effectively and courteously with guests and co- workers
• Perform calmly and effectively under stressful conditions
• Promote an atmosphere of teamwork by assisting co- workers

Must be willing and able to:

• Meet personal schedule requirements punctually
• Be courteous, friendly and pleasant
• Accept constructive criticism and adjust/change behavior based on this feedback
• Stand and walk for an entire shift
• Safely transport items to and from kitchen on a slick uneven surface
• Lift and carry racks and trays weighing up to 30 lbs. from dining room to kitchen
• Move tables and chairs to accommodate parties
• Safely move about in all areas of the restaurant
• Frequently bend, stoop, reach, push, lift, carry, pour and wipe

• Ability to work a variety of hours, days and shifts, including weekends

• Ability to stand/walk for an entire shift
• Lift and move up to 40 pounds
