Key Responsibilities
-Responsible for cutting, trimming, deboning, and preparing meat from various animals including beef, pork, poultry, and deer ensuring quality, safety, and customer satisfaction.
-Weighing, packaging, labeling, and pricing meat products for sale
-Maintaining displays and signage to attract customers
-Performing quality inspections to ensure meat is fresh and safe for consumption
-Advising customers on cuts, preparation methods, and portion sizes
-Cleaning and maintaining tools, equipment, and work areas to comply with hygiene standards
Required Skills and Qualifications
While formal education is not required, experience in meat cutting or food preparation is highly valued
Essential skills include:
-Safe knife skills and proficiency with meat processing tools such as grinders, saws, and tenderizers
-Knowledge of meat cuts, animal anatomy, and cooking methods
-Attention to detail, physical stamina, and hand-eye coordination to safely handle sharp tools and heavy meat
-Customer service and communication skills for interacting with clients and taking custom orders
-Understanding of food safety, storage and sanitation regulations
This is a full-time opportunity with a starting wage of $20.00/hour, depending on skills and experience.
